That maybe he'd like to be in the palm of Deceit's hand. That maybe he wouldn't mind so much, if Deceit wanted him for the wrong reasons. Sometimes, Roman thinks, when he sees Deceit looking at him, it's the gaze of a predator looking at their prey, and he wouldn't mind getting caught.

Summary
"Izzy," Edward breathes, as he pulls away, "I'm -"
For a second, Izzy thinks he'll actually say it, that his soft feelings have carried him all the way to apology this time. But then his mouth closes, hardens, and Izzy nods, once, to himself.
"I know," he says.
That's enough for Edward. He doesn't need Izzy's forgiveness, not now that he's starting to come out of it slightly. Izzy can tell; maybe he could taste the blood still faintly in Izzy's mouth, maybe his eyes had lingered when they turned away from Izzy's face. Maybe it's just being here, in his room, with Izzy so vulnerable, that's faintly hardening Edward's newfound, purposeful, redundant softness, that Izzy can tell he is proud of.
Edward's hands wander. They wander down. He stretches Izzy's leg out. Caresses his ankle. His thumbs skim over the bandages.
"You need to change these," Edward breathes.

A few days after Edward cuts Izzy's toe off, he comes back to try to offer Izzy some tenderness.

Izzy shrugs uncomfortably. "Why should I? I don't want anything to change. I don't want to be his fucking boyfriend. And he doesn't want to be mine."

He needs to peel Will's mind back, layer by layer, see all of the masks that make him up. He needs to feel the rush of gratification when Will lets something slip, when he begins to open up. He needs to take Will apart. He doesn't care if Will likes him, if Will trusts him, if Will offers himself up to Chilton or if Chilton has to crack him open against his will. He doesn't care if Will's grateful so be understood and cared about or if he resents Chilton for it, hates him. But he needs to understand how Will works, what he wants, why he did it, who he is. He just needs something, some way in. He needs to understand.

Louis looks at him for a long moment. Daniel, if you think pity is what I am feeling for you, maybe you do need my help after all.

“There is something you can do,” Nathalie murmurs, and Gabriel can feel the vibrations of her words against his shoulder.
“Do for what?” he asks, and he shifts so that he might better see her face. Her eyes are half-closed, and all of the usual tension has gone, leaving her as relaxed as he has ever seen her. He feels almost honored at the sight.
Nathalie blinks, and Gabriel sees something sharp and bright come back into her expression. “To repay me, sir,” she says, and with her head on his shoulder and their fingers entwined, it takes Gabriel a moment to process what she’s saying, so out of context and out of sorts as he is at five in the morning on a glass of cognac and nothing else in the past twelve hours.
“I see,” he says at last, his brow furrowed. Nathalie is looking up at him in a way that tugs at something in the back of his mind, some distant memory. “And what might that be?”
“Kiss me,” she says.
