Summary
Across the room, the Orphanmaker continues her uneasy rest. The Inevitable End is surprised she isn’t asleep by now. She’s watched her take some heavy hits today, even the same ones that she herself managed to shake off. Maybe that’s what Obann has chosen the Orphanmaker for – her resilience. Her ability to withstand a barrage of attacks and not flinch about it. The fact that she can keep getting back up, never truly harmed.
She is harmed, though. That’s why she’s resting. No explanation quite makes sense.
The Inevitable End pushes away the thought. No matter. Obann has chosen them both for a reason, and as long as they are both under his command, she supposes it is not her place to question it. She tries to return to her meditation, but her focus wanes. Something is off. It takes her a moment to recognize the sensation as hunger. It’s lucky, then, that they are at ease for the night.
or: For the first time in centuries, the Caedogeist begins to realize that living weapons have personhood, too.

Mira sat up and peered at Rumi. Rumi didn't like that look; it felt uncomfortably like she could see right through her, like she could just tell Rumi wasn't asking an idle question. She was about to walk the question back, to change the topic, something, when Mira's eyes widened. Oh no—this was it; Rumi was done for.
“Oh my God,” said Mira. She narrowed her eyes and pointed an accusing finger at Rumi “You're thinking about having cute babies with that Saja Boy!”

All of the color suddenly drained from Rumi's face. Her breathing visibly sped up.
"They're visible?" She asked, looking at Bobby with wide eyes."Not really," Bobby moved his hands in a hopefully reassuring manner. "They're only visible in one shot when you stretch your arms out wide, and I don't think many people noticed it. Someone from the network saw, and they just want to get ahead of it. You don't strike me as someone who gets tattoos, so it's probably not a big deal."
His words were clearly having zero effect.(OR: Rumi's patterns are visible while she's wearing her Golden outfit, but that's more okay than she thinks it is)

Summary
A daemon is the representation of one’s soul. Rumi can hide and lie all she wants, but she cannot outrun the truth that is Eunwoo.
Rumi used to try and look at the upsides, that Eunwoo had settled the way they did to be a better hunter, to be stronger against the demons.
Tigers are one of the few animals who hunt humans too.
Zoey told her that fact excitedly after the first hunt that Eunwoo helped with. There was no suspicion behind it, no malice. Zoey would never. It was said as one of at least twenty tiger facts the younger girl had listed off over her bowl of fish cake soup.
Rumi has never forgotten.
When Eunwoo blends into the shadows, when they tread softly, trailing behind Mira and Zoey, she wonders. When Byeol or Jun get near and Eunwoo seems to bask in their presence, she wonders. When Eunwoo has their bright gaze pinned on Seung and Celine, tracking every move the pair makes, Rumi cannot help but wonder if Eunwoo is eyeing the souls as a future meal.
Eunwoo is a hunter.

She found herself on the ground head hung in shame. She looked at the Honmoon it was ripping apart because of her, because she was a mistake. The Honmoon rippled an ominous crimson. She looked up she saw her Saingeom pointed at her, ready to strike, the figure welding it was tall and lean.
Her arm was steady like it had done this a hundred times. Her hair had silvery strands woven into its black wavy canvas. For some reason she couldn’t quite make out her face, but she could feel the figure’s hate for her, she loathed her. She saw the figure’s muscle tighten as the sword came down and hit her neck.

“That’s the first nail I ever tried to make.” He smiled, a far off look in his eyes. “When I was an apprentice in Elturel, it took me hours and hours to get it right. Then the moment I tried to put up my own nameplate above the door? I sneezed and hit it at the wrong angle, bent it completely.” He pulled the glove from his left hand and pointed at a small scar on his thumb. “Got myself pretty good, too.”

Summary
Dammon knew had just a little thread of magic. It lived in his hammer, in the exact spot where it made contact with his hands, where his fingers grasped the wooden handle and drove it to strike at metal. The jump from enchanting low level magic items to modifying an infernal engine of devilish make was a large one, and the risk involved ate away at Dammon as he knelt down next to Karlach.
Karlach origin run, but told from Dammon's perspective. Mostly canon-compliant ;)

It's sad, almost, how she isn't even surprised when the first flash of heat races through her. Ironic, in a way, how she is the happiest she has ever been in her whole life and that is the moment fate decides to take her. She doesn't even get a whole day to celebrate their survival. Not even an hour to bathe in the golden joy of victory and sink into the lighthearted embrace of her friends.
Just one moment, she wishes, just one...
Gods, fate is a cruel bitch. If she could, she would fight it tooth and nail but in a way, she knows, she already has. She's lived longer than expected. She outstayed her welcome in this plane of existence for far longer than anyone would've thought in the beginning.
And now, she is dying.
