Then she chitters again, and the Salandits release him, scuttling backwards as he scrambles back, getting ready to spring to his feet. Claws curl around his ankle and yank him back, the Salazzle rising to her full height above him.
Then she tilts her head — Cai swears she smiles even though Salazzles always seem to be smiling — and releases a puff of gas that washes over him.
