Summary
Harry went back into the Chamber of Secrets because, honestly, he hadn’t gotten a proper look around the first time. No monster chasing him. No diary causing trouble. Just quiet.
He wasn’t expecting anything to happen.
He definitely wasn’t expecting it to change everything.
What starts as a summer of curiosity becomes something much more: a hidden sanctuary, forgotten legacies buried in stone and silence, and a slow unravelling of the world as he thought he knew it. If everyone expects Harry Potter to be something great, then he’s going to decide what that means for himself.
Tradition. Progress. Power. Family.
He won’t be what they made him to be.
And the magical world isn’t ready for who he’s becoming.Series

An AU in which Bitty was a figure skater at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and met Kent Parson during a... difficult time. The two became friends, and the rest, as they say, is history. Of a sort.

Summary
By the eighth time John Sheppard married Rodney McKay, they were old pros at the wedding thing, having weathered not only an Ouishan blood wedding, but also a twelve-hour Avalonian handfasting, a Malanese necklace exchange, and a Thurtu joining ceremony that invoked a fire god and featured seven kinds of cake.

Summary
Harry Potter really didn’t plan on living past his fated confrontation with Lord Voldemort. When the latent basilisk venom and phoenix tears in his blood started making dramatic changes to his body, he wasn’t that concerned. It’s not like he was going to live long enough for it to be a problem anyway.
Even if he had planned to live past the final battle, then he could never have guessed the struggle awaiting him on the other side, or that he’d become a magnet for those with nowhere else to go like the snarky house elf, the grumpy phoenix, the injured vampire, or the stray werewolf that showed up on their doorstep…oh, and the egg. You can’t forget the egg; that’s the most important, more than anyone or anything else on the planet. Harry will do whatever it takes…literally whatever, even light the fire and watch the world burn, all for the sake of the egg.

Summary
There is a picture in one of the books of a worn young man, heavily scarred with gentle eyes. Remus Lupin, he is identified as. The man who was watching Charles, and presumably Harry. The man who died defending them. Harry traces his fingertips over the man’s face and wonders.
And then he stops, and reels all those thoughts into a tangled knot and tucks it away.
They didn’t want him; that’s fine. He doesn’t want them either.
xxx
Alternatively; Harry James Evans is Sorted Slytherin, desperate to stay hidden from the family that gave him up so many years ago. Severus Snape owes debts to a child presumed dead and the child's tormented godfather; and now he has a cunning, paranoid snake to charm all without tipping anyone else off to the boy's true identity.

Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.
Archived Author's Notes:
I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.
Beta work by Norcumi and Mrs_Stanley. Brit Spellcheck will be performed...soon.
*I use the first 7 books and the Tales of Beedle the Bard as canon, but there are moments from the films used because they left me with fun things to play with.
I do not consent to my work being reposted or used in any unofficial apps or other websites. This work is not posted for anyone's profit.

Why is this not already here? Great war story, adults being adults, excellent characterization, including one of my all time favorite OCs, and memorable "bits" that linger. It's also beautifully written. An excellent read in every way.

Summary
What if Tony Stark found out he was going to be a dad at the end of Iron Man and got therapy so that he wouldn't make Howard's mistakes?
What if he met the Avengers and said, "Might I suggest therapy?"
What if everyone made healthy choices and supported one another?
There is a point oh oh six percent chance that a condom and the pill will still end up with a pregnancy and — in a world where Tony Stark decided to be a dad — everyone wins.

Summary
“A meeting,” Tony doesn’t even bother to hide his incredulity.
“Yes.”
“With the Galactic Empire,” he attempts to lighten his own mood with the joke, but the response he gets from Ross makes the blood freeze in his veins.
“They call themselves the Unitary Galactic Communia, actually.”
If Tony lets his silence speak for itself, it’s only partially because his throat is closing up on him at an alarming rate.
“I know it sounds bad at first—“
“Oh no no no, not at all,” Tony interjects quickly, “this is wonderful news. A communia. A unitary one. Sounds very… organized. They must be people who know how to keep an army. Of galactic proportions. This is great, really. Not debilitatingly frightening in the least.”
...
Alternatively: the freshly pardoned Rogues have complaints, Tony is dead on his feet, and Steve has issues with the handsome alien lord who keeps offering Stark the literal universe. -

Summary
These are the letters of the Blythes and Merediths, 1914-1919.
What really happened to Jem when he was captured?
Why wouldn't Gilbert let Di join the V.A.D. with Faith?
What did Nan do during the Halifax/Kingsport Explosion?
Why did Walter and Di quarrel?
What happened when Faith saw Jem on leave in England?
What happened when Shirley and Carl met in Paris?
How could Walter write both "The Piper" and "The Aftermath"?
This story is canon-compliant. It does not contradict canon and all the canon incidents still happen, including major character deaths. It is also a sequel to my previous story, "Glen Notes."
