Yuna gives him a narrow-eyed once-over. She doesn’t… not see what Shane might be attracted to. “Thank you for meeting with me,” she says, and uses the ostentatious size of his doorway to slide past him and into his open-plan kitchen. “I think we have some things to talk about.”

So Ilya, Shane, Harris and Troy make up this whole plan to bring a few selected players to the Bite Me (Reneé Rapp) Concert in Boston, the same day as the Boston vs Ottawa game. Shane decides do bring Hayden and JJ, telling them is long overdue.
Ilya is Reneé's biggest fan, and have been making all his teammates listen to "Mad", "Kiss It", and most important "I Hate Boston", and now they are pretty excited to go to the concert.
Ilya has booked a VIP lounge for all of Ottawa and the Boston players too, if they decide to show up.

When Ilya hands him a $10,000 designer scarf and matching gloves, Shane doesn't panic. He sells them for next month's rent. Any normal person would be terrified. Instead, Shane uses the leftover money to buy a Hello Kitty watch, pastel pink, childish, utterly incongruous with the danger circling him. He wears it to his next night shift without irony or apology.
Ilya notices immediately. He is fascinated.

Shane’s laugh comes out wrong, hollow and sharp, because of course Ilya would follow him just to be an asshole. He turns slowly, because part of him wants to see if this is real and part of him wants to rip the reality out by the roots.
“Fuck you,” Shane snaps, voice shaking with rage he didn’t realize he had. “After five months of silence, that’s the first fucking thing you say to me? Fuck. You.”
