But the stranger only snorted, 'Oh, no doubt.'

Truly no one is going to make that much of an effort to really tear apart a product and reverse-engineer it to the extent that it actually works. No one has the time, or the smarts.
But it’s fucking Viktor, so of course he does.
It has to be the principle of the thing. Fucking with Jayce. Taunting him. Showing how smart he is, how he can still know HexTech inside and out. A threat, of sorts. Perhaps he wants hush money. Jayce doesn’t think the whole open-source, biohacking spiel that he went to after their break-up pays all that much money, anyway. The channel, save for this last video, barely has views, not like he’s making a living out of this either.
“So this would be all. See you in the next launch,” he says. “Fuck Hextech, fuck their copyright, fuck their programmed obsolescence. And fuck you, Jayce. Personally. ”

Max isn’t sure. This conversation. This entire night. The last few weeks that they’ve spent accidentally ending up in all the same places.

Summary
Charles Leclerc had always been in Max Verstappen’s orbit. Long before they made it to Formula 1, Max found himself only a couple degrees of separation from Charles at all times. Whether it was passing each other between trailers at a karting track, at a banquet event for a racing group, or hearing his name in conversation with someone else. He was omnipresent and Max would never be able to escape him– an unfortunate fact considering they hated each other.
