First time in a while I've felt really compelled to write out a rec again. This fic has a wonderful writing style that hooks you into this barren wasteland the reader character finds themself in, as well to offering compelling dialogue and character interactions that really feel like they mean something here!
Currently an ongoing fic with interests in smut/audit content later so I may update this rec in the future but count me absolutely obsessed with this!

I recommend short-ish one shots usually, but if you see this and have the chance to read this fic I wholly recommend it! Read the whole thing across two days and I come out the other end of this fic in appreciation and a new view on a character I didn't give as much thought to originally. I genuinely cannot recommend this enough! The story is beautiful including it's ending, the progression with little sex scenes scattered about felt the most human a person can get writing two characters at their odds end in this! I may be four years late to the ending (much more with its start) but I cannot compliment this enough!!! Like genuinely, from the bottom of my heart this was amazing and is such a good read even if you've never played new Vegas and it's dlcs <3333
