Azure was supposed to be dead.
Amarah’s orders were very clear. Two Time was to kill Azure with the ghostfire dagger, and the Spawn would to bless them with the gift they were born to receive. The gift of a second life.
But they couldn't do it. Watching Azure tend to flowers as delicately as ever… they could never hurt him.
The two of them run away together. To the outside world that Two Time has been told is horrible and cruel and full of evil people.
I’m sorry I have failed you, Spawn. Please, forgive me.
Two Time can only hope they made the right choice.

The flavor of a sharpened dagger was in itself a form of temptation. Harvested internally by a god they couldn’t physically perceive, Two Time was walking themself into an illusion of sustenance. The pale moonlight crawled through the leaves of trees like they were a trapped animal having holes poked through their enclosure. Their hideous stature remained trembling and hunched over as they dragged themself to what they thought was a ceremony of their love, not for Azure, but for The Spawn. There was no love without sacrifice. It was just as Amarah had said in the temple years ago: a sacrifice is the strongest prayer and repentance of them all. A loose giggle wormed its way out of their mouth. What a beautiful act it was going to be!
