“I love you,” Lawrence breathes, and Adam isn’t sure if he’s even aware of what he’s saying. Then again, since when has Lawrence ever said something he didn't mean?
Adam pulls away from his safe crevice in the fold of Lawrence’s neck. “What?”
He’s incredulous, looking at Lawrence as if he had backhanded him across the face. It’s endearing, if not a bit concerning.
“I love you,” Lawrence repeats, as if Adam hadn’t heard him the first time. As if he hadn’t understood- Adam understood plenty. Love, L-O-V-E, those three big words, the ones Adam found only in shitty rom-coms and Deftones songs. Now directed at him, of all people.

Summary
It wasn't often they lingered in public unless necessary. Compared to Lawrence and Mark, they were both considered recluses, preferring to set up traps and plan out things with John rather than putting on a facade of normalcy. Lawrence had a job as a doctor still, and Hoffman was a detective pretending to run in circles around the Jigsaw case with that weird little FBI agent. Strahm, if Adam remembers. Something weird was going on between those two; he'd bet his life on it. But Adam and Amanda didn't have anything outside of John.
Adam wasn't getting much money in the photography business, so the kids slowly started fading until he gave up looking, and Amanda hadn't held down a job in years. That left them with a lot of free time, in which they slowly formed a bond over time. If you had told Adam he'd somehow be bonding with the woman that kidnapped him and almost fucked him over by messing up his trap, he'd call you crazy. But, instead of killing him, Amanda had saved him after John abandoned him.

Amanda and Adam go to Chili's and bicker.

Summary
It’s almost surreal seeing Adam again.
The younger man looks…healthy. Of course, Lawrence’s only memories of Adam are of him soaking wet and shackled to a bathroom wall, and recovering from a gunshot wound in hospital. But he’s got a light in his eyes now that wasn’t there when they first met, his skin has a healthy glow, and his whole posture is much more relaxed.
“I’ve gained a little weight,” Adam says shyly with a shrug, sounding half embarrassed and half proud.
He’s not quite as skinny as he was a year ago; his gaunt edges have been replaced by healthy curves.
“You look good,” Lawrence says honestly, wanting to erase any embarrassment he’d heard in Adam’s tone.
It’s the first time he’s ever seen Adam properly smile.
“Thanks, man. You look good too. Cool cane.” Adam nods at the cane by Lawrence’s side, his voice soft and genuine.
OR
Lawrence reconnects with Adam some time after the bathroom incident, and is surprised by just how much he really likes him.

The rope fibre was starting to rub his wrists just a little, and Lawrence flexed his fingers as the sharpened edge of the knife skated across his jaw- any closer and it would have shaved him. He had watched Adam sharpen it, the sound of the whetstone almost pornographic in the silence of the room, and to know exactly how sharp the weapon against your skin was, was thrilling.
“How do you feel,” Adam’s voice was soft, oddly gentle for the setting, with that usual undercurrent of bite. “Not being in control?”

He took a long drag of his cigarette, nervous system twitching to flick ashes on the polished wood. Strings of smoke escaped his kiss swollen lips.
"Some dog owners rub their pet's snouts in the messes they make. You're lucky I would never do that to you."
Adam looked up to the small burn on the opposite side of the table then aimed his eyes to the man behind him.
"What's this about?" Lawrence asked in an assertive tone, "Hm?" His hand curled inward, tightening around chunks of greasy hair.

He’d waited for Lawrence to get home to open it, unwilling- or unable- to do it alone. Whatever it was, he knew it was from his parents.
He watched as Lawrence ran a blade along the taped seam, splitting it open and checking for Adam’s nod to ease the lid off.

Inside the box was a camcorder. It was decent quality, he could tell, and clearly brand new, chirping cheerfully to life as he opened the viewfinder and automatically focused on his dresser across the room.

Summary
When Lawrence wakes up in the hospital he's relieved to find out that both he and Adam escaped the bathroom. Adam, however, is nowhere to be found. With everyone being particularly tight-lipped about it, Lawrence is shocked when he learns that the man he was trapped with is in fact an Omega. While initially intent on putting Adam and everything that happened behind him, a combination of loneliness and the bond formed between them during their captivity has Lawrence seeking Adam out.
Adam, meanwhile, discovers that with his secret revealed to the world, Lawrence might be his only real ally and the one person he really needs in his life.
