Summary
What if no angels answered Dean’s call for help? What if Dean were to lose Sam to the trials, lose everything, with Cas being the only person left to help him pick up the pieces despite being broken himself?
Without Cas’s grace, he’s weakened and vulnerable, and Dean needs something vulnerable to take care of in the wake of his brother’s death. Dean cloaks his need for intimacy during this isolation under the veil of taking care of Cas and teaching him to be human, which he asserts does, in fact, need to be done. He vows to put aside his feelings and do his best to raise his angel to be human better than he himself was raised.

Summary
In a moment of desperation, Dean says a prayer he didn’t know he knew, to a name he doesn’t recognize, except for the fact that it comes out practiced. The djinn’s eyes flicker to his, alarmed.
... It all comes flooding back at first sight in a stinking dark basement: a man standing before him, like he’s always been there, like he never left. Castiel, angel of the Lord, warrior of heaven, personal savior of Dean Winchester’s banged up soul.
Post Swan Song divergence. Dean and Bobby survived the apocalypse, although they’re not sure how. With Sam gone, Dean rambles alone on the road, trying to put back together the pieces of his life. Unfortunately none of them fit, and some are, of course - completely missing. The mysterious deliverance of Sam from the cage sets in motion a series of revelations that sweep Dean closer and closer to the one true and final piece he’s been holding on for.
TW: there is mention of suicidal ideation with a plan. (dean is depressed with a dead brother and a gun.)

Summary
“Cas… could you really be in this town?”
Dean was hunched over the bathroom sink. His cold eyes stared into the mirror, daring himself to blink. He looked the same as he always had, same eyes, same face, same Dean Winchester. Yet there was something missing. A hollowness stapled deep into his skin. After Cas had left him, sacrificed himself so Dean could see tomorrow, he’d lost faith in whether the tomorrow Cas had promised was even real.
----------
Three years after Castiel is taken by the Empty, Dean recieves a letter calling him to Silent Hill, telling him that Cas is waiting in their 'special place'.Bookmarked by heyhumitsme

Summary
Castiel Novak is used to change. He's used to being the new kid in school. So when he moves with his family to the small town of Rail Pass, he doesn't expect things to be much different than the last three towns.
But then he meets Dean Winchester, an aggressive fellow student who sees Castiel as the shiny new toy he and his friends get to mess with. Castiel has had his fair share of bullies in the past, but nothing like this. He's never felt this way about a bully, or anyone for that matter, before. Maybe something's wrong with him, that he could feel so attracted to someone who makes his everyday life hell.
But then again, he sees the way Dean looks at him sometimes. And there's a lot more to Dean Winchester than meets the eye.- Language:

Summary
"I can help with other things, too. I've been told I'm good with my hands." Dean winks, watching to see how the quip lands.
There isn't really a height difference between them, but the older man is thicker, heavier with age and muscle and time. He's broader and probably stronger, if not for the injury. Dean could outrun him, if he had to, but to where? His own front door?
He reaches out a hand to touch Mr. Novak's belt, presses a finger to the silver buckle there.
"Been told I'm good with my mouth, too."
It's Summer in Sugar Run, Florida. John has disappeared to God knows where, and Dean is doing whatever he can to make ends meet and keep food on the table. He's used to doing all sorts of odd jobs–but working for the taciturn and slightly strange older man on the other side of the park presents a new set of challenges...and a new set of rewards.Bookmarked by heyhumitsme
