Barry is waiting in the entryway of their house when Hal gets home, still dressed in the same pajamas he’d been wearing this morning.
“The aliens are hiring tomorrow.” he informs Hal. “Be there. You’ll look better in green than brown.”
“The aliens are hiring, got it.” Hal placates, used to his husband’s oddness. “Anything else?”
“We’re out of spicy ramen.” Without another word, Barry turns and walks back up the stairs.
Barry had been perfectly normal up until his lab accident four years ago, but the accident changed that. Despite being largely unharmed physically, mentally he lives in his own dream world that is only somewhat grounded in the real world.
There’s no medical grounds to institutionalize him- he’s 28, he can take care of himself, he has no other chronic health conditions and he’s not a risk to himself or others, just…weird.

As Goff fights for control over Adrian’s rapidly self-healing body, he and the other’s fight for his freedom.Or- Goff steals Adrian's body in episode 6 instead of Sophie, and the team tries to both kill and save Adrian throughout the progression of the show's real plot.
(I got the idea that what if instead of Sophie begging for peacemaker to join her, it was Adrian? Would the answer be different?)
