    Summary

He knows. They know. He knows they know and they know he knows and still he says, so they don't have to: "have none of you guessed where we are?"

The words sit heavy on his tongue, cloying and rotten. Peter thinks it's the worst thing he's ever had to say.

Because how do you broach the idea that you're back in the place where you lived for fifteen years, the place where you grew up, where you became the people - the Kings and Queens - you were meant to be? How do you even start to comprehend, let alone acknowledge, that your home is empty and lies in ruins when you've only been gone a year and you never wanted to leave at all?

    ~

Peter leaves. Peter returns. Peter loves. Peter loses.

    Summary

    “What are you doing here?”

Peter tilts his head, a tenseness filling his body, as if going into a defensive stance.

    “What do you mean?”

Caspian fights the urge to laugh. “What do you think I mean? You left, Peter. All of you. Susan said you were never coming back.”

The day after the Pevensies leave Narnia, Caspian wakes to find them back, with no one but him remembering what has happened. The day ends, and it happens again, and again, leaving Caspian alone and desperately seeking answers—and a way to escape the cycle for good.

    Summary

In some ways it starts with swords in a forest, metal on metal and instincts acting up before anyone can realize what’s actually happening. In others, it starts with a tree opening up to nowhere, and people disappearing into mid-air, and the unshakable knowledge that even the loveliest things come to an end. But mostly, it starts with a realization that will never stop haunting Caspian the Tenth, king of Narnia: someone always has to leave, and someone always has to stay. And no matter how hard he tries, he’s always the one doing the staying.
(or, a story about leaving, and living. and maybe a little bit about loving. after all, aren’t they the same?)

    Summary

“Can't you talk to him?” she suggests, more than a little irritated at her brother’s seeming nonchalance. Peter is burning himself out like a candle or a fuse before their eyes, and yet Edmund steps in time and again to help him out of every mess he throws himself into. It’s upsetting Lucy. It’s frightening Mum.

And maybe, just maybe, it’s frightening Susan, too.

“You think I haven’t tried?” Edmund scoffs, and there’s something terribly resigned about his tone, his posture, the way he looks at her tiredly, then, across the board.

“We can’t let him keep doing this, Ed.”

“We’re not letting him do anything,” Edmund says. “It’s Pete. You know that.”

(or, susan, and all the ways she sees her brother; all the things he cannot hide.)
