Summary
“Good patrol?” Jason asks an eon later.
Dick nods. “Uneventful.” A word that is synonymous with safe in their line of work. “My red slushy was kind of nasty.” Jason snorts and Dick can’t help but grin himself. There’s an air of ridiculousness when they skirt around the topic of Dick’s appetite. “Had something to wash it down with later in the night.”
Nodding along, Jason finally comes to the last of his tasks, with only the pot still cooking away on the stove. He takes a moment to be still before replying. “Cherry isn’t my preferred slushy either.” Ironic to Dick, when Jason smells of cherries himself. “Too artificial, ” He continues. “Fresh ones you can bite into are always better.” He says it with a wry grin, and there, Dick is inclined to agree.
He tilts his head, “You know,” He starts, although he’s never mentioned it to Jason before. “You smell like black cherries to me. Tart ones.” His tongue runs along the inside of his teeth as they itch with that familiar curiosity. Never ache, never thirst. Just itch.
…
Vamprism isn’t a choice Dick got to make, but Jason and Damian prove to Dick there’s value in being among the undead and resurrected.

Summary
Dick contemplates what Damian means to him, and what their relationship really is. He doesn't understand why Bruce is held to the regard he is in Damian's mind, and why it means so much to Dick that Damian's happy. Dick also thinks about Bruce, and how he fits into the puzzle that Dick calls their life.
Or, in other words: Five times that Damian called Dick his dad, and the one time that he did it on purpose.

Before he could talk himself out of it, he opened the door.
There was no blood. There should still be blood, Damian thought inanely; Jason had been bleeding so much when they had brought him back… but now he was clean, covered in white bandages and a white sheet, and attached to a white IV and vitals monitor.
There was entirely too much white. Jason should not look that pale. Or that still.

2) Go along with Dick’s excited “You’re dating Batman!” until he figured out the truth.Several children later Bruce wished he’d gone with option 1) or he wouldn’t have to deal with all his kids believing he and Batman were separate people.
