Who else remembered? Was he the only one? Had Chronos decided to drop the fate of the world solely on Law’s ability to sneak around and strategize? Terrible choice. Awful. What was he thinking?
But if he wasn’t the only one, who else remembered? The rest of the team? Probably not Alphen. Shionne? Law didn’t know how he’d been picked. He didn’t know why. Or if it was just random. Maybe some random person in Niez remembered, too. How would he know!?"

Summary
Time passes slowly.
The first time Kratos challenges him to a fight out in the world, Yuan is surprised. If someone sees, they risk word of Angels fighting making it into the population. The Church is young, and if they’re not careful they will fuck up the theology.
But Kratos has led him away from people, and the stars are bright, and if Yuan looks up at them too long he’ll get melancholy, thinking of stargazing with Martel before everything fell apart.
When the dust settles, and they lay in furrows they gouged in the dirt, Yuan laughs, wincing.
Kratos smiles.
Yuan asks why Kratos brought him out here, and Kratos answers, “You needed someone to get you out of your head.”

Vash isn’t sure there was a time when he didn’t remember. He remembers being small, again, at night, him and Nai. Freshly tucked in, in their comfy, soft beds, with a suburban lawn and a couple dozen trees on the street where all their neighbors set the sprinklers to run at night, and knowing without a doubt that he’d lived on a planet of two blistering suns and vast stretches of sand.
He remembers meeting Nai’s eyes across the room and knowing Nai remembered, too.

He looks up at the ceiling of the Weasand of Cados, taking stock. Something hit his head, probably, but not too hard. He landed on his hip weird. His foot hurts. He tries to pull it towards him-

He doesn’t know what he wants them to do, but something is off about how they move on their own. He can’t hear them, but he can. Outside instead of in. Something’s odd about that.

Lieutenant Marron pauses long enough for a weary “Sorry,” to float to the front of the ship from behind a pile of haphazard equipment. She sighs, then continues.
“--our scouting vessel has crashed on the third planet from the star of system X-9-Y. Today we are repairing the ship as much as we can, and tomorrow scientific cataloguing of the planet will begin.” She pauses, and smirks. She looks over her shoulder and yells, “And Thace is going outside first tomorrow since he’s the one who crashed us.”
