When outlaw Roronoa Zoro stumbled upon the Vinsmoke family farm one summer’s evening, he hadn’t expected it to be anything more than another eyesore along his haggard journey. That was, until its hot-headed ranch hand, Sanji, got too deep under his skin and had made it difficult for him to leave alone. Faced with something he never considered before, there was only one way to find out if he was making the biggest mistake of his life.
“Take me with you,” Sanji said quietly with all the hesitation that Zoro wouldn’t admit to.

This year all of Zoro and Sanji’s friends and family are invited for their Halloween-Christmas dinner, and the theme to accommodate all of the hungry guests is “pumpkin made 25 different ways” for the 25 days of Christmas.
Or, so Sanji thinks. Really, Zoro wants to make sure everyone important is there to witness when he proposes to the cook on Christmas Day. He’s been planning it for a year. It’ll be perfect. Christmas dinner will turn into the engagement party of the century.
…just as long as he can find the ring.

The morning after that night in Karai Bari, when Miss Nami learned that Crocodile had fed Luffy in the night, she had covered a laugh behind her hand and said, “Well, enjoy reaping what you’ve just sown, buddy.”
He’d just given her a flat, unimpressed look. “All I did was make a few extra of the sandwiches I was already making for myself. That hardly seems like the sort of action to invite consequences, even where Straw Hat Luffy is concerned.”
But she’d just grinned and swanned off, leaving behind a smug, “You’ll find out,” as she sent her captain off to find the rest of their crew.
Luffy, excited to see Crocodile again after bonding with him on their visit to Karai Bari, launches them into the jungle, where the pair have to go back the long way. While their crew search for them and Luffy has a grand adventure in the jungle, Crocodile decides this is a great time to have an existential crisis about the baby he left behind.

Zoro watches his crew during the years and clocks the moment when their Captain's name appears on their skin. He realizes it doens't really matter though.
So this is kind of a soulmate AU but not really. It's a universe where you have your soulmark in your right wrist and your nemesismark in your left. The soulmark doesn't have to be romantic and the nemesismark doesn't have to be murdery. The marks appear after one makes a decision that ties them to a person for the rest of their lives. Choice is a big part of the concept since I don't like the 'predestined' soulmate trope.
It's technically part of my Love-me-not series but it's not focused on the same characters or even the same period of time so I think it can be read alone except maybe the soulmark system is better explained in the other story.

Summary
Kuraigana is a dark, mysterious and almost comically foggy island that looks exactly like the lair of a villain from any children's fairy tale. Zoro's life there is peaceful, if he doesn't count his lost eye, Perona's endless attempts to feed him sweets, Mihawk's omniscient eyes, and the fact that he might miss the cook more than he expected.
It's hard for Zoro to feel things that he's never faced before. He fights, talks and cares.
