Summary
Just west of the town Porthgwarra, Cornwall, Robert Singer’s farm lies, a mess of ravaged land gaping out onto a fretting sea. Robert's orphaned godson, Dean Winchester, is named sole beneficiary of the farm - and though he hasn't seen his godfather in fifteen years, he travels across the Atlantic with his brother and half brother to care for Singer in his old age and tend to the farm. All of them hope to leave behind the squalor and famine of their old life.
What Dean meets is the bird-infested home of a widowed eccentric, and a new shepherd whom he can neither stand nor see any use for - stoic, rude and conceited, Dean plans to fire the mysterious and wandering Mr Novak the moment he comes into legal possession of the farm. But upon the shepherd's offer to teach him the trade, in anticipation of Dean replacing the man himself, Dean finds in the wild and roaming man a steadiness and certainty his own life has never yet contained. And one day Dean will have to ask, not tell, the shepherd to stay.

literally perfect and beautiful and the perfect reread! plot and tension and conflict was so good; everything fit so well even tho it’s an au, the characters were incorporated perfectly. the writing is so flowery and pretty and still digestible and very tender and sweet and just lovely! & very satisfying ending- tho i didn’t expect the historian’s perspective!

Summary
True to name, Atsushi is the Man-Eating Tiger. All at once he develops fangs, a love of raw meat, and a horrible craving for his friends.
—
“No.” Atsushi’s chest stuttered. Byakko was in his lungs, now, all confused and scared. Ryuunosuke? “No, it’s — Byakko — she —” and he couldn’t say it, couldn’t explain it. 'She loves you so much' and 'she wants to eat you' should have been contradictory thoughts.
But Ryuunosuke said: “She wants to eat me?”
Atsushi said nothing. Just stood there, hunching, back to the wall, hugging himself like a child. Ryuunosuke was flushing red from navel to neck, and the ladder of his ribs kept expanding and contracting in a slow, careful, conscious way — he was scared, maybe. Of Atsushi? As if Ryuunosuke couldn’t, if he wanted to, impale Atsushi into the wall right now.
“Yes,” Atsushi said, his claws digging into his sides.

**no main character dies or is attacked by Atsushi in this fic.

unfinished as of 7/5/25 but so fucking good ?!?! super nice writing & the relationships between characters feel so natural! atsushi & byakko are kind of more merged here which is a cool concept :3

Summary
They’re so familiar.
When Akutagawa is being bitchy (so, normally), he would say that they’re too familiar — but Atsushi disagrees. It’s a good thing to know what kind of day you’re going to have just by the way your partner says good morning.

“I tried to get close to my dad too, I guess—but there was just never any room.” Ash curls into his shoulder fully—as if he could melt away and disappear.
Max squeezes him closer: he already knows how to be a dad, Ash is, for once in his life, inexperienced at something.

Summary
“In our profession,” Nanami starts, slowly, “when a fellow sorcerer is incapacitated, it is considered the most polite to simply make yourself useful in their absence. Ignoring your responsibilities to care for others would only result in more injuries in the long run. For you three, working on your training would be a better way to spend your afternoon.”
“But?” Yuuji asks.
“But,” Nanami says, his sigh crackling through the phone’s speaker, “you’re still students, and you have few responsibilities. If you truly insist on visiting, I won’t stop you.”
In which Nanami is stuck at home recovering from injuries, and is caught entirely off guard by Yuuji, Nobara and Megumi’s insistence on keeping him company.
