Eddie's had a good day. Steve hasn't. Neither of them handles it particularly well.
Or: Eddie is a dog hybrid with an oral fixation and the impulse control of a dog in a tennis ball factory. Both are implied to be neurodivergent. ADHD Eddie, autistic Steve, though neither is explicitly labelled. Steve does get overwhelmed. Not always in the good way.

With everyone else gone for college, Steve and Eddie are what’s left of Hawkins. What starts as shared boredom turns into something messier, too much (awkward) time spent together, too many things left unsaid, and a slow, inevitable falling out that neither of them knows how to stop.
(they’re sort of friends, then they get closer and then royally fuck it up all at once. lots of misunderstandings and absolutely no communication, now with a side of eventual friends-enemies-lovers!!)

Ongoing series of fics and oneshots of my dog hybrid Eddie :) Modern AU, no upside down. Set in Chicago, Steve is a barista, Eddie works at a record store. :D
Can be read out of order too, they should work as standalones as well.
