Lan Zhan stumbles into a friends-with-benefits relationship with Wei Ying that has unexpected consequences. Then, he disappears, leaving Wei Ying behind to wonder what went wrong.
Five years later, he finds out.

Summary
Jiang Cheng should know better than to keep falling into bed with the brother of his future brother-in-law, but hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Which is why he's trying to do the right thing and end things before he does something he'll regret, like fall for a man who he'll have to see at family gatherings for years to come.
Wei Wuxian catching them in bed was not part of the plan. Neither was Lan Xichen's proposal for them to fake date to avoid their families' collective disappointment. For want of a better plan, Jiang Cheng agrees.
Surely nothing could go wrong, right?
