A kind of lacking that shivers through him. Fur damp with stasis fluid, drying and cooling as gloved hands pick over him. Words filter in slow and then fast: wires, needles, nodes, humans, sterile, metal. The world once a comforting dark is now a whorl of colors and sensations and he looks up at the light overhead.
Another word comes to him even though he knows it isn't what he's seeing: sunlight.
