Summary
The Kingdom of Bannerfall was an odd sort of place, but it was home.
Scott had been here for a hundred years now, and still, the novelty of having a safe place to stay where he would always be welcomed with open arms… It was good. He hesitated to call most things "good," but really. They were. Scott was doing okay.
But it never did get easier. He could breathe better, sometimes. It'd been so long, he'd honestly forgotten what they used to look and sound like, and the thought was as terrifying as it was comforting.
OR: A reincarnation AU, inspired heavily by It's Not Goodbye Forever by verdantstories, in which nothing and everything is as it seems and there's a magical artifact standing between three kingdoms. Chapter titles from From Eden by Hozier.

Moon June day 16: Enchant! I didn't follow it very well, but I got to write fluff, so that's okay. The idea is that Graecie is 'enchanted' by Shan and in general that Nom and Katie managed to 'enchant' most of the crew into joining their dance party.

Some places are the patrons of a certain element; a city that heralds life and passion is beloved by Fire, a small, high-up mountain village is nurtured by Wind, an untouched field is ripe with Earth.
Oakhurst's patron happens to be Water. It certainly helps that there is a champion of the Sea who resides where the riverbeds sing, however unaware of it he is.

Summary
Zam thinks she might be dreaming.
Actually, that's probably exactly what's happening, but she can't take control of the dream like some people said she should be able to, if she knows she's dreaming. Lucid dreams, she thinks they're called.
The floor is not really a floor, just… a rippling mass, like water that she can stand on. The pseudo-sky is littered with pinpricks of light, far away, but shimmering brightly like real stars.
It makes her ache.

While asleep, Zam meets another version of Scott. He says some things that make her think about how special people are.

Summary
The ritual does not pierce the air so much as it worms a crack in it.
Scott is, admittedly, not in a safe spot when it happens—just outside the ritual circle, still desperately shouting to the students inside that they shouldn't be doing this, when someone grabs Pyro by the arm and seems to drag him in, accidentally or not, so Scott, stupidly, panics and follows.
And then he can't see the ritual, because he can't see anything.
Anything, that is, except for Pyro.

He and Katie are whispering, because according the digital clock in the bathroom, it's four A.M. There's a bottle of blue dye on the counter right next to a deep brown. They probably shouldn't be doing this—their parents might freak out when they find out, because they inevitably will—but the bathroom is on the other side of the house and they've never been good at rule following.

There is something deeply visceral and fundamental about a sibling.
This goes for all sibling relationships, the good, the bad, and the deeply, uncomfortably complex—but, in Nom's opinion, especially when you are the eldest.
It felt like for the first four years of his life, he had been waiting for her to come along. Waiting for a small little blur of ginger and freckles to rock his world and fix it all in one go, perfect in every way she could be, even though she was annoying and stole his fries and was pathetically obsessed with becoming just like her big brother.

She suppresses the sigh that immediately tries to escape their throat and settles for an internal one—it'll be a long night. Pyro is staring intently at the ceiling, chewing on their lip, as if he is considering the dust that has built up and accumulated itself all gross-like over the last twenty something years that this decrepit apartment has stood.
No, seriously. Apo's pretty sure that no one has dusted this roof since it was built.

If they don't get out of this cold, they're all going to die, so Shelby does something that has just failed her twice:
They close their eyes and pray, desperate and rabbit-quick, get us back safe and sound.
Somewhere far off, her eyes catch a pinprick of light, and she stops to squint at the new visual. Her companions pause with them, curious, and Pyro's protests die when he catches sight of the source.
A figure stands on a hill, arm raised high, a lantern swinging in their grasp.

Summary
A ball was… not quite something Legs expected when he came to the Academy.
Danger? A hundred percent! Dragons? Yep, got that memo. Corruption? He'd seen it, so really he'd have been a fool not to at the least expect it. Really, darkness, death, and misery where to be anticipated.
