Now, faced with the consequences of his actions, after seeing Peter at the MIT honor convocation, Tony wants to make amends and build a relationship with his estranged son. It'll take a lot of work, but Tony is willing to do all that and more. But, is it too late?

    There’s a measles outbreak, Ned’s sister is teething, and it’s hailstorming outside, which means Peter’s trapped inside a painfully boring law firm.

    “I’ll write you out my will,” he warns May over the phone, from where he’s had to temporarily set up camp at Matt’s desk. “I was going to give you my Emperor Palpatine.” He’d bought one to match Ned’s a while ago. It’s one of his most prized possessions.

    May sighs. She sounds tired. “I’d tell you about how you don’t need a will for at least another sixty years, Pete, but there’s a measles outbreak and a kid’s just walked in with a Monopoly hat stuck up his nose.” She hangs up.

    Summary

    In which Peter is Tony's biological son, but Tony chose not to be in his life until May and Ben passed away. Tony gets surprise custody of Peter right in the middle of the plot of Iron Man 2, and their first couple months together do not go well at all. Tony continues self-destructing and pushing everyone away, which now includes 14-year-old Peter.

    They get through it, and Tony redeems himself. Peter doesn't easily let go of his abandonment and trust issues, though.

    The Enhanced Registration Act passed months ago, pushed through congress immediately after the Accords.

    Tony never agreed to a registration act, but thus far it hadn’t affected his life much. The Avengers were done, and keeping enhanced people at arm’s length made it easier to ignore.

    Then a chance encounter with a dodgy teenager changed everything.

    Peter Parker was suspicious as hell, snarky, and the most brilliant child Tony had ever met. When Tony discovers he’s also Spider-Man, everything about him suddenly makes sense. Like why a fifteen-year-old boy genuinely believes he doesn't have a future outside a government facility. For Peter, it wasn’t a matter of if SHIELD would catch him, but when.

    Tony had never been great at following rules or listening to the government, so it was the easiest decision of his life to put himself on Peter’s side. Now he just has to keep the kid out of SHIELD’s hands long enough to fix the damn law.
