Originally posted on Sufficient Velocity back in 2020 and recently revived for whatever reasons, ego, plot bug, whatever-Yukari, decided at that point in time she needed a new piece on the board-well guess who drew that duty? It was either that or whatever afterlife she decided to send me to.
My soul crammed into an icy form and told to 'get on with it'-I became known as the Fairy Contractor-the guy that does the jobs that no one else wants-because why get a hero when you've got a disposable, reforming pawn for that kind of work? This is a three year timeskip story, no adjustment period as that allows for a more passive worldbuilding style in the form of grudges, passive observations and hard-won survival. All chapters from pre revival will be marked and unedited.

After somewhat successfully developing the first prototype of what is to become her greatest invention yet, one that could guarantee victory for the kappas in their trade wars against the yamawaro, Nitori's initial tests with her invention would go awry when the device malfunctions, accidentally shrinking down one of her "sworn friends", so to speak.
No, this absolutely does not have any correlation to my other currently ongoing fanfic, completely different setting we're going by here. No cubes were involved in the making of this one, nor were alternate realities affected in any way shape or form.

Summary
A girl emerging from the void steps into a Gensokyo that is far different from what she remembers. The weather is being toyed with by unknown forces, and most of the typical incident-resolvers are too busy hunting down targets they shouldn't be. It falls to Rin Satsuki, as well as some other familiar faces, to get to the crystallized heart of this.
This is the version I started first, and the version I've ultimately decided to stick with. The other copies will be turned into different versions of the same story, but as you could probably guess, the general story beats will stay the same (except ALT).
