Everything seemed to be over for Goro Akechi. The life he lived, the fame he enjoyed, gone in the face of defeat and the sins and murders he committed, born from his lies and hate and brought about by a life of being rejected, friendless, and used as a plaything by his own father and a malevolent god.
But fate has given him a second chance, and now he finds himself in the realm of the forgotten, Gensokyo, where his crimes and past are unknown. Now, as he attempts to reinvent himself he must confront the troubles of his new friends and a force which threatens to drown humans and youkai alike in their worst instincts.
A what-if scenario following Akechi after his apparent death in Persona 5.

The Hakurei shrine's god has always been silent, as if it simply weren't there. Reimu, of course, couldn't care less. What does she need a god for? The shrine functions perfectly fine as is with just a human shrine maiden and always has. Everything goes on as normal.
At least, until Reimu learns that she might not be as human as she thinks.

The world has ended, but five (well, it’s complicated) humans get a chance to do it over, and make things right. Only problem is, for their second go around, they're not going to be 'human'...
Kosuzu, Reimu, Akyuu and Youmu have all remembered their pasts, and through significant trials and tribulations, begun the path of fighting against the doomed future. Of the five Immaterial Children who were wound back in time together, only one remains - the Magician, Kirisame Marisa.
But among the five, Marisa is the one who lost the most. She was the first to succumb to the black flames that consumed their world, and was at risk of losing herself entirely when their rescuers arrived. Bringing her back into the fold could prove difficult, especially when the powers Marisa’s been burdened with are beyond anyone’s understanding… even her own.
The fifth arc of a CYOA crossposted from THP.moe. Designed to be understandable independent of the previous arcs; but said arcs can be useful for general context.
