For three hours, he’s at the beach, takes off his socks and hikes Ilyukhina’s dress up, and stands in the water. He left the cane on the shore; it hurts to let his frame bear the brunt of gravity unsupported. The reliable tide, just cool enough to chill him a little, laps at his shins.
He closes his eyes and tries to forget about himself, the familiar ache in his joints and spine. Allows himself to imagine something else.
A different truth, a hypothetical, a thought exercise.
Rocky can't bear to lose Grace. But he can bear to watch Grace wither away from a sickness easily cured by Earth medicine even less.
Grace has to make another choice.

Summary
Loop and Siffrin fail to break the loop, even working with each other. In a last ditch attempt to fix things they make another wish together. The Universe gives them one last chance to fix things, letting them loop back one last time to when Siffrin first encountered the party. Now Loop, a depressed and cold Siffrin and a new Sif share a body. There are no more loops, but could their combined craft and experince be enough of a push to defeat the King for good?
And what will the rest of the party think of this strange traveller, who's personality wildly changes?

HEY!!! WHAT!!!! This is one of my favorite isat fics ever???? I read it in one sitting???? It's also one of the most devastating fics I think i've read! I don't know why this one is the one to be that haha. I'm in love with all of the headcanons and worldbuilding and I'm a sucker for mira and siffrin focused fics so this is like my kryptonite. Near the end I was like wow these are such good stakes I'm so glad the author would never do that (<- genuinely believed) and then they did and I'm just. gahhh???? I cried (a rarity!), I laughed, etc etc. I'm. so very glad that there is such a mira centric fic that is as well written and characterized as this. <3333
