Summary
Tim also assured him that it wasn’t his fault. There was nothing he could’ve done. Seeing the Joker coming at him with a crowbar should’ve sent him into a full-blown panic attack. The fact that he fought back at all was incredible. That’s what Tim said.
Tim didn’t let him read the autopsy report until months later. He hadn’t wanted to let him read it at all, but Batman had talked him into it. Batman, of all people. It was almost funny. (Nothing about it was funny.) -

Summary
Now Nightwing's hands were as bloodier as his.
He kept passing the palms of his hands in Jason's face, a gesture that could be as tranquilizing if Dick's eyes weren't blown out without any trace of blue and Jason's heart wasn't strumming out of his chest.
Nightwing stood in silence for a while cleaning the blood off Jason's cheek.
"You can't do this again," Nightwing said frantically when he spoke again. His hands grabbed Jason's cheeks with probably more strength than he planned, shaking Jason's head slightly as the last word blurted out of his mouth. "You listening to me? You can't. do this. again."
Jason couldn't bring himself to answer, his shoulders shaking with the rain. There it was Nightwing, the man he shared a dad with, his childhood hero. Droplets of rain dampen his hair, the usual confident smile erased by a deep, desperate scowl.
He looked like Bruce.

Summary
Tim saw how Dick slumped every time his little brother stepped away from one of his hugs, how Bruce’s jaw went tight every time they returned to the Batcave without Jason, how Alfred wiped away tears — quickly, like he hoped no one had noticed — when Jason didn’t show up for brunch, again.
Tim saw all of this, and he put two and two together (he was good at that), and he came to the obvious conclusion.
Jason was back, which meant it was time for Tim to leave.
