Yes, it couldn’t have been for him, he reasoned internally, turning the paper over to reveal a doodle of a heart on the back. Some poor student must have misplaced their message intended for another, although Miles couldn’t recall anyone sitting near his spot in the front. Who passes around notes in university anyways? This wasn’t grade school.

Summary
Miles Edgeworth was not one to get distracted. Except when he sat in the library, staring out the window to see that man who ruined it all. Painting in the gardens, looking ever so beautiful, how could Miles not stare? Stare at his supposed childhood friend who was now ignoring him for whatever reason?
Miles wasn’t hurt—frankly, he didn’t care! It wasn’t like he wanted to reconnect either, he was simply… curious. Yes, curiously watching from the library window for a hideous pink sweater and a pair of heterochromatic eyes that weren’t supposed to be looking back at him.
Wait, what?
A ‘leave me alone’ or a ‘I know you like me’ would've done him in. He was ready.
“I want to teach you how to paint.”
That, he was not ready for.

Only in his fantasies would the phrase "getting tied up" be literal. And only in his wildest of dreams would it be turned literal by Miles Edgeworth himself.

Did such petty and insignificant things matter, when the weight of entire universes was on the souls’ shoulders?
Miles Edgeworth is just one of the reincarnations of the villain, Phoenix Wright is just one of the reincarnations of the hero. Miles, the general of the Karmerhaugh Kingdom, confronted with the cruelty of his actions. Phoenix Wright, the right hand man of the Fey royal family, who wants nothing more than for the Feytara Empire to live peacefully.
There was a way, surely, for them to live happily, wasn’t there? For them not to be doomed in a cycle of love and loss, life and death?
But no matter how much they want to escape these cycle of reincarnations, they never could.
For it is…fate.

Summary
Phoenix had never forgotten his childhood friend Miles Edgeworth.
Miles had been his confidant, debate partner, and even his accidental sort-of-first-kiss.
He was heartbroken the day Miles vanished.
Ten years later, it's the night before Phoenix's first day of law school and the fire alarm is going off in his dorm building.
Desperate to continue studying and not flunk out before the semester even begins, Phoenix goes to the seemingly-abandoned campus library. Between the long rows of dimly-lit ancient books, he runs (quite literally) into a face from his past.
Phoenix is shocked to find that unyieldingly compassionate Miles he once knew has been transformed into a smug asshole, who finds the mere idea of Phoenix's presence insulting.
Between investigating a murder on campus, taking part in an unfortunate amateur production of Don Quixote, and dealing with growing unnecessary feelings; Phoenix is starting to doubt his chances of making it out of law school alive.

And the laugh this provides Phoenix carries him all the way into the royal blue sky that stretches across the afternoon, where Truce calls him up and he can finally give her the news. Calm, clinical:
“I’m stuck in the land of shit and honey with Miles Edgeworth. Hold down the fort for me.”

"Do try not to become embroiled in a murder on the plane," Edgeworth said with the slight tilt to his head that Phoenix had learned meant he was teasing.
In return, Phoenix shot back a grin. “What else am I supposed to do to relax?”
Edgeworth huffed. "Be serious Wright, it would be irresponsible of you to leave your colleagues with all the firm’s cases,”
“C’mon Edgeworth, you think I would leave them like that?” Phoenix batted his eyelashes, an action he would have been ashamed of, if it were not for the way Edgeworth’s lips tugged upwards.
“Simply stay safe, Wright,” Edgeworth placed a hand on Phoenix’s shoulder and squeezed, as if it could convey the unspoken words between them.

“- by my honesty in admitted scruples about our relationship,” Mr. Edgeworth concluded with an icy stare. “Could you expect me to rejoice in the inferiority of your circumstances? To congratulate myself on the hope of forming a union with a man whose situation in life is so decidedly beneath my own?”
Phoenix felt himself growing angrier every moment, and he struggled to keep his composure as he angrily exclaimed, “Those are not the words of a gentleman, Mr. Edgeworth. When I saw you again after all these years, I knew you’d changed. But your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others, and your self-centred motivations for prosecuting - all these things made me realize that you were the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.”

Summary
Phoenix is the director at a Los Angeles preschool and when one of his students goes missing in a museum, the police are called. The detective sent is none other than Miles Edgeworth, their first encounter not going well at all.
Phoenix was beside himself while he gave a statement to the first officer to arrive. He hated standing around doing nothing while Rory was still missing. It was then that he noticed a man dressed in a cranberry suit approaching them, a scowl on his face that anyone could see from a mile away.
Phoenix had to admit he was attractive, would be even more so if he was smiling. His tailored suit accentuating his alluring frame, his interesting hairstyle adding to his appeal. When he drew closer, Phoenix mentally whimpered when he could take in his facial features up close. Feeling guilty about internally swooning over the man while one of his charges was missing, Phoenix banished the thought from his mind and focused on the matter at hand.
“I’m Detective Miles Edgeworth,” he said, pulling a notepad and pen out from his messenger bag, “When was the last time you saw the child?”
