Summary
The Moments After is a continuation of Hans' and Henry's story after the events of the game and it immediately follows up on the last chapter from part one The Moments in Between.
War took many things from Henry, but it gave him Hans in return. In the tangled web of politics, intrigues, duty, and obligation, they keep finding each other where they shouldn’t, despite the world trying to keep them apart.
“If you think war is a nasty business, wait until you learn how utterly disgusting politics can be. Your importance will grow, Hans, and your enemies will try everything to discredit you.”
“I understand,” Hans muttered. He’d say anything just so this conversation would be over.
“Trust no one. Don’t give your enemies anything to use against you. Either behave so you have nothing to hide…” Hanush paused, then leaned closer and lowered his voice:
“Or if you do have something to hide, then you’d better hide it goddamn well.”Series

Summary
As death creeps closer in Suchdol, Henry and Hans are drawn together by fear, by duty and something else neither of them fully understands. Stolen moments, fleeting touches, unspoken thoughts - everything feels too heavy to bear alone. Amid the chaos of the last night at Suchdol, is what they find a real closeness, or just a the comfort of surviving the storm together?
The Moments in Between expands on the canon Siege of Suchdol, exploring what could have happened between Hans and Henry between the game’s cutscenes. The story also follows Henry’s journey to find Jobst’s army, filling in the gaps the game leaves behind.
The chapters alternate between Henry’s and Hans’ perspectives, with occasional shifts to minor characters, while many of the events unfold in parallel.
If you enjoy canon-compliant works that stay true to the characters, with angst, tension, and tasteful smut, you’re in the right place. I’ve tried to stay as faithful as possible to the game’s events and realism, to bring you back to the time when you were obsessively playing it and to fill the emotional void left after completing the game.
There is part two "The Moments After" following up on the events of this work.
