Ned had walked past him without a second thought or a second glance, Happy had stood at May’s grave and talked to him about her and about Spider-Man and just thought he was some guy. MJ had thought he was weird, at the doughnut shop. And yeah, maybe he’d fucked that up. But the fact that she’d still had that wound from the battle meant something, right? Like maybe there was a chance that she’d actually remember, or believe him? Or -- or nothing. He shouldn’t be getting his hopes up. He knows MJ said that she’d remember, or else she’d figure it out, but he knows how Dr. Strange’s magic works. He knows that there’s no way she does. And really, really, he should find a way to move on.

Summary

His backup plan was always to go to university. He hadn't thought he'd ever need it, not really. Especially not near the end, when everything felt so certain.
