Summary
Lucia heard that Dante is back from the underworld, and finally has a proper excuse to see how he's doing. This Dante seems to have returned to his reserved self she had known him as, and perhaps he's treating her a bit coldly, but she can't quite blame him. After all, he must know about her feelings... and that must be uncomfortable...
Vergil is very confused as to why this woman is acting so familiar with him, but any excuse to fight demons and get out of the house his brother and sister in law had desecrated practically ever surface of is good enough for him.
Well, actually, the more he interacted with the beautiful demon huntress, the more intriguing he found her. How someone so powerful could be so kind--it was a mystery! He hasn't felt this way since he was a young man and had a fateful encounter with Nero's mother.

They’d been watching the target for weeks now, and it was quickly decided a new waitress at his favorite diner would be a seamless way to keep some eyes on him and gather information. They weren’t even sure about the target’s name, and he seemed to be in possession of half of the key to the underworld.
Mary wasn’t used to undercover work. She was far more suited to special ops demon killing, but unfortunately she was the only one who could do it. From a few interactions they’d observed, it was clear a woman would likely get the target talking more, and of the women on her team, Mary wasn’t going to make them do that.
So she had to grin and bear the ridiculous uniform and hair ribbons, curious looks, and attempted smooth words. She should clarify, from other patrons, their target actually was a bit of a smooth talker. That was annoying.
