Peter was damn near ready to pull his hair out.
That scent, that fucking scent, was still haunting him. It was all over the campus and it should have been child's play to find the source. Instead he was chasing his own tail more than anything, going 'round in circles and never finding what should have been a goddamn two-by-four in a pile of sand. It left him frustrated and half-feral, always a hairs-breadth from losing what had once been impeccable control. He hid that as best he could - a werewolf without a pack couldn't afford any real slip-ups - but he'd sent more than one co-ed fleeing from smiles that were more snarl than anything else.

Maybe he'd only been able to stand going for two years, but he'd nearly killed himself to get his BA in Social and Criminal Justice as quickly as fucking possible. The Nemeton and his dad had been lures too strong to ignore... which was another reason why he and Lydia wouldn't work anymore. He wanted, needed to be in Beacon Hills, and she was ready to move on to the larger world beyond that. She'd nearly clawed out his eyes when she found out he was 'limiting himself'. Come to think of it, shit like that might be why his wolf disliked her so damn much.

Summary
Talia Hale survives the Hale Fire, along with Laura, Derek, Peter, and Cora. It's been roughly ten years since the events of that night, and to say that it left scars would be an understatement. Desperate to bring her Pack back to its old strength, Talia will not stop pushing her children and brother to settle down and have kids of their own. For this year's Cold Moon, Peter finally brings someone home.
Stiles is not at all what Talia was expecting. He's far too young for Peter, he's human, and worst of all a man. (No biological children to carry on the Pack). He also doesn't give a shit what Talia says about him. His mere presence is enough to have her melting down, and it's bad for the simmering tension between her and the rest of the Pack. Unfortunately, everyone else likes him.
Derek might like him more than the rest. A little too much. Aw hell, he has a crush on his uncle's boyfriend. But maybe that's okay, because there is something off about Peter and Stiles that Derek just can't quite put his finger on.
