“Have you had dinner?” he asks after a few minutes.
“… yes.” Shinsou’s tone doesn’t hold much conviction. His eyes avoid Shouta’s, shadowed by a nearby overhang. Shouta raises both eyebrows and looks skyward.
“Oh, really. What did you have for dinner?”
“Konbini coffee and some tictacs?” Shinsou makes hesitant eye contact with him again, rubbing at the back of his neck. Shouta snorts.
“Oh well in that case, I’m sure you’re fine then.” He rolls his eyes, nudging his mentee over toward the front door of the izakaya, glass half blocked by old window clings and faded advertisements. “In here, come on.”

Summary
A ongoing series about the lives of Shinso Hitoshi, who was born into the foster system and has been dealing with an abusive foster father, and his faboulous teachers (who happen to be gay for eachother and married): Yamada Hizashi and Aizawa Shouta. Unfortunately for Hizashi and Shouta, this runaway child, who they foster and hope to adopt, seems to remind them of themselves just a little more than is comfortable.
This is technically a continuation of ‘My Lover’s the Sunlight’ which covers more of Aizawa and Yamada’s lives as disabled people and their struggles. (Completed!)

Summary
Ever since Aizawa and Yamada brought home Eri, Hitoshi keeps spacing out.
One moment he's fine and present and everything is good and the next she laughs or says something or their guardians are paying her attention and Hitoshi loses time and bits of himself.
He never knows how much time has passed by the time he finds back to himself, but it's clearly not enough to be noticeable, because no one has said anything yet.
It's just one of his many creepy, annoying quirks, he's sure of it and it's no wonder that no one has noticed yet. Noticing means dealing with it and why would they, when they have their hands full with Eri these days?
Hitoshi adores her—he thinks he would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't—but he thinks he also hates her.
At the very least he's jealous of her, of the attention she's getting, of the family she's getting because her getting all of that means—he won't.

Summary
Maybe running away from his foster home in the middle of October wasn't the brightest idea Hitoshi has ever had. But the quiet cold and flicking street lamps were better than another wretched night in that oppressive apartment.
Should he call the UA student crisis line? Maybe? Does being told off for his mistakes, his stupidity, even constitute an emergency? Sure, it had been a little worse than usual, but this was normal.
It was his fault.

The teen fished his phone out of his book bag, cringing at the notifications from his social worker, a spontaneous wellness check tomorrow afternoon.
Great.
By 4pm tomorrow he’d be a missing kid police report. The feds and heroes would be on a constant lookout for him. Even in running away he’d still be a burden.

Hitoshi’s foster father seriously injures Hitoshi for a ‘mistake’. Hitoshi determines that he is a burden and runs away from his foster home. Illegally uses his quirk to work in a shady bar that reeks, sleeps in a park and goes to UA the next morning. Aizawa’s not buying the story Hitoshi’s telling and tries to get the truth from him after a nearly nasty fall during afterschool training.

His foster mother meets him right at the door as if she knew he would come home that very second no matter what he does and so the end result is always the same.

“I’m upstairs with one of the boys,” Hirotsu says once Kouyou greets him on the other end.
“Oh? Which one?”
“Dazai.”
She clucks her tongue, unsavory. She has a favorite and it’s not this one. “Well, what does he want this time?”
Hirotsu pauses. Studies Dazai’s haggard state. The way he leans limp against the pillar like a ragdoll propped atop some child’s bed and pillow, the way even then he’s trying to curl up into himself because surely he’s in pain. Hirotsu has never been in the room for it, but he knows Mori is not kind with him.

The light lands on Toge, instantly making him squeeze his eyes shut with a silent wince. The bright ray wobbles and jerks around wildly as its user—who chokes on some sort of startled gasp—realizes what he just saw, and consequently begins to freak out over it.
“Holy–! Is that a kid?!” the flashlight holder across the room exclaims loudly.

Hitoshi kept telling himself that this time wouldn't be like every other time, and in some ways, he knew it was true. For fucks sake, he had finally gotten out of the group home! There was no world where that, on its own, wasn't a good thing. Plus, Hitoshi was moving in with people he was familiar with and knew— at least a little, deep down— cared about him and his overall well being.
Yamada and Aizawa had actually worked out the details that allowed him into their home.
OR
Hitoshi spends his first night with Aizawa and Yamada after moving into their apartment— effectively rescuing him from his shitty group home.
He's not handling the whole thing as well as would have liked to.
