Summary
Eddie Munson comes back from the military changed in all the ways that matter, learning how to survive being treated like a ghost, a rumor, and a mistake Hawkins reluctantly tolerates.
Steve Harrington still looks at him like he’s just Eddie.
What starts as lingering touches and late-night drives quickly becomes impossible for Steve to ignore, until one quiet night after a party leads to a realization neither of them can take back.

“Eddie, why don’t you introduce yourself,” Bob suggested.
First of all, the guy was like 10% hair. Which Steve could respect, had Eddie actually done anything with it. It was clear he didn’t even know what product was, let alone how to use it. Did he even own a hairbrush? God. Steve thought about whether or not it would be against the rules to write out a hair care routine for the poor bastard before he left.
“Uhh, I’m Eddie, as Bob here said,” Eddie began with a half-assed wave. “I dunno what else you want me to say. I’m here to get shrunk, I guess.”

“You’ll…what?” asked Eddie suspiciously. “You’ll come to the con?”
Steve's neck prickled. Really what he meant was that he would drive up with him to sell the tickets but as he looked over and saw the slight upturn in Eddie’s eyebrows and those big eyes the same shape as the pit in his stomach, he couldn’t do anything but smile and nod.
