He shakes her hand, not meeting her eyes. She studies him, trying to get a firmer foothold. There are lots and lots of tired lines etched in his face. His glasses obscure his eyes for the most part, but she thinks she sees something injured in them. Something pained.
Not unusual for a therapist’s office.

Summary
“Will! Please!” Mike begs as his best friend walks away from him.
Will’s face is twisted with a look of repulsion that shatters Mike’s heart. After a few more steps back, Will finally turns his back and keeps walking to the dark corridor.
“Please… come back to me” the boy is now crying, he wants to run, to apologize for everything he said two minutes ago, but his muscles don’t want to move, Mike is frozen and forced to watch Will disappear.
This is the end. He ruined everything. Again.
He ruined everything with everyone, El, Eddie, Lucas, so many others, and now…
He fell to his knees while he struggled to breathe, his throat tightening from his tears. Mike wants to scream, but nothing comes out from his mouth.
Why is he like this? Why did he fall in love with his best friend? Why?
“It’s you. You are the curse, Michael.”
OR rewrite of the Stranger Things’ finale because the real one is bad. (With Byler obviously)

Summary
Mike came from a lineage of gunslingers (assassins), chosen by the Archangel Gabriel himself. At the age of five, he was trained by his mother’s twin sister, Noctis Childress. By ten, he gained his powers, by twelve, he lost them. This might change the story or not at all.
(This is a rewrite of Season 5 Vol. 2 to provide a backstory explaining why Mike started acting like he’d undergone a lobotomy—because, in this version, he actually did. Kind of?)

Summary
“Your friend, Eleven, disrupted your assimilation,” Vecna explains, so close Mike can see his crooked, rotting teeth. “The others were gone in a moment, absorbed into my psyche, but you… linger.” His expression darkens on the word, bitter that things didn’t go as planned. “But no matter. It won’t last long. You are simply an echo of a dying mind. You’ll lose yourself soon enough. Lose yourself… to me.”
Dread settles in Mike’s stomach. Unlike the others, he doesn’t even get the privilege of a proper death.
This hell is just for him.
Or: Trapped in Vecna's mind, Mike tries desperately to hold onto a fading sense of self. Meanwhile, the Party in Hawkins struggle to pick up the pieces and prepare for their final confrontation with the evil that has overtaken their town.
This is a continuation from my s4 rewrite in which Mike never made it to California, covering the 18 months between s4 and s5. Read Part 1 first!!
