Summary
After rather stressful events involving Rannoch and brokering peace between the quarians and geth, the crew of the Normandy SR-2 take a few hours to relax and recoup. With most of the others using that time to enjoy a few rounds of Poker in the Lounge, Specialist Samantha Traynor invites Dr. Liara T'Soni to partake in some Chess instead. This sparks a rather unexpected conversation between the two of them.
This is a side story that ties in with my other Mass Effect work, A Compact of Human Behavior. In context, this takes place around the same time as the events of Chapter 25 and is later briefly expanded upon in Chapter 39.
