Kon had only been depowered a few times by Kryptonite. It felt like nails dragged through his veins and glass shoved into his organs each time. It was horrifically painful. He had never been depowered by the stupid rock and felt nothing before.
Kon struggled as Lex clamped a thick metal collar around his neck. The clone immediately tugged at it, but it wouldn't budge.
"What the hell is this thing made of?" He screeched as he kicked wildly in the air and clawed at the stupid collar. Lex's smile was wicked.
"Kryptonite." Kon's heart sank. No, not again. He didn't want to go through that kind of pain again. Lex pressed a button on his suit, and Kon gasped as the collar began to glow blue. No pain came, though; in fact, Kon started to get dizzy.
"Woah, everythin' spinning." A giggle bubbled up from his chest as he felt wind suddenly rushing past him. Oh, he was falling. He felt like he should be worried, but his head was too floaty to care.
"KON!" Kon knew that voice, he was sure of it, but it was too hard to think who it belonged to. The air was knocked out of him as he was caught. He giggled as his spinning world started to slow down.
"Ow." He wasn't expecting pain. He doesn't usually feel pain. So his powers must not be working. That would explain why he fell out of the sky.
"Kon, can you hear me? Are you alright?" The voice was much closer now, and when he looked up, he was staring into pale blue eyes.
"Oh, you're really pretty. Like, really, really pretty. Do you have a boyfriend? Cause if you don't, I'd be happy to fill that position." Kon's words slurred together, and the person holding him frowned. Then, there was a soft beep, and the person seemed to respond to someone Kon couldn't hear.
"No, he's acting like he's high on morphine, and the collar around his neck is glowing blue, not green."
Kon giggled and reached up to squish the pretty boy's face. "I'm not high silly. I can't get high. I'm Kryptonmm, Kryp-uh, I'm not human.
The man placed him on the ground and gently removed his hands from his face. "You're so lucky you weren't that high up. Otherwise, you would have been a Kryptonian pancake by now."
"Ah, that's the word. Kryptotanalinina. Yeah, that.” Kon felt hands on the collar around his neck, and he tilted his head so they had more room to work with. A frustrated sigh came from the man above him.
"The collar won't budge, Nightwing. See if you can get the code from Lex. It doesn't seem to hurt him, but prolonged exposure can't be good either." There was another beep, and suddenly Kon was being picked up. He looped his arms around the man's neck and pouted.
"I can fly; you don't gotta carry me, pretty boy."
"Not right now, you can't. You can barely walk. Come on, let's get you back to the Bat Cave." The Bat Cave sounded familiar. Kon pushed away from the man so fast they both nearly toppled over.
He squished his face again and beamed. "Timmy, it's you. You're so pretty, so so pretty."
Tim pulled his face away from his hands. "What, did you forget who I was?"
"No," Kon whined and hugged Tim fiercely. "I'd never forget, never ever, ever."
"Uh-huh, sure, that's why you asked if I have a boyfriend." Tim chuckled as he grappled off the roof they were on and swung to the next one.
"Do you?" Kon's voice sounded utterly defeated. "No fair. I've been in love with you for like ever. I wanted to be your boyfriend."
Tim rolled his eyes, but his smile was fond. “You are my boyfriend, silly farm boy."
Kon lit up and pushed back to look at Tim again. "Really, I am?!" Tim couldn't help but laugh.
"Yes, you are. Now stop moving before I drop you."
"Yes, sir." Kon laid his head on Tim's shoulder and giggled softly as they swung from rooftop to rooftop.
When they got to the cave, Alfred had already set up a bed for Kon in the medical ward. Kon refused to let go of Tim when he tried to set him down on it.
"No, no, I don't want to. No more tests." Tim shushed him and kissed his hair.
"No tests, baby, I promise. It's just for you to rest and let us monitor any changes in you, okay? No one's going to hurt you." Kon relaxed at the words and let Tim put him on the bed. He felt sleepy and floaty.
Kon reached out for Tim when he felt him start to move away. "Don't go. I don't want you to go. Stay." Tim sighed, but it sounded fond rather than exasperated.
"Okay, okay, but let me change first. It won't be comfortable laying in bed with all the weapons and gadgets I have strapped to my suit."
Kon whined but let Tim go. He made a joyful sound when he felt him come back and snuggle against him. Kon started purring profusely when he felt Tim's hands in his hair.
Tim chuckled. "Your purr is always so cute."
Kon smiled all sweet and dopey as his eyes closed, and he fell asleep against the soft thumping of Tim's heartbeat.
Kon woke up to a wave of nausea and rolled over before throwing up off the side of the bed. Thankfully Alfred had the forethought to place a bucket there. Kon still felt floaty, and it was hard to think, but now he felt sick as well. He felt a hand on his back, rubbing up and down as he finished dry heaving and flopped back onto the bed.
"Kon baby, are you alright?" Kon whimpered as he opened his eyes to look at Tim.
"I don't feel good."
"Oh, baby. Damian will be back soon with the code to your collar, and then we'll get you under the red sun lamps, okay?" Kon pawed at the collar still around his neck.
"I don't like it, Tim. It's heavy and makes me feel all floaty. It felt good at first, but now it doesn't." A sob shook out of him as tears started to well up in his eyes. Kon wanted his brain back. He wanted to be able to think again.
Tim gathered him up in his arms and rocked the Kryptonian back and forth gently as the man sobbed into his arms. "I know, baby, I know. You'll be okay. I'm here."
The sound of an engine had Tim pulling away from Kon, and Kon cried as he clung to him tighter. "Don't leave."
Tim hugged him again like before, and Kon's sobs petered into soft hiccups. He was exhausted, and his grip on Tim slackened. Kon let Tim hold him, not having the energy to do anything more.
Kon heard soft beeping behind him, and there was a mechanical hiss before the collar around his neck was unlatched and fell into his lap. Kon signed with relief and let himself pass out in Tim's arms.
Tim felt Kon go slack in his arms and felt simultaneously relieved and worried. He looked up at his older brother, Damian, who had just entered the cave. The man stood rigid as he took in the sight before him.
"Thank you." Tim's voice was quiet, not wanting to wake Kon, and Damian simply nodded before heading to the room where the red sun lamps were. Tim knew Damian wasn't the biggest fan of Kon since he was dating his little brother, but he wasn't heartless. Not to mention Damian had a Kryptonian boyfriend himself. He knew what it was like to worry about them when exposed to Kryptonite.
Damian returned with the lamps a few minutes later and plugged them in. Once he flicked the switch, the room was bathed in a red glow. "That should help. Keep him under these for the next few hours, and he should recover."
Tim nodded and laid back down, holding Kon against him tightly. The other man breathed softly against him, soothing Tim's worries without realizing it. Tim played with his hair as he let his boyfriend rest.
Kon woke up with a splitting headache. Everything was too loud and too bright as his super senses came rushing back. He groaned as he opened his eyes before wincing.
"Hey baby, how are you feeling?" Kon looked up at the man beside him and squinted, trying to blink the bright lights away. As he struggled to keep his eyes open against the onslaught, the light suddenly disappeared, and the room was completely dark. Kon sighed in relief. He could see plenty fine in the dark; now, it didn't hurt to open his eyes.
"Like a locomotive hit me. What happened?" He felt Tim playing with his hair.
"Lex Luthor happened. He managed to lock a collar infused with blue Kryptonite around your neck. It works differently from green. Still renders you powerless but also gives you an incredible euphoric high. It's similar to morphine. Prolonged exposure to it is also dangerous. "
Kon groaned. "Babe, I love and adore you so much, but that was so many words. Basically, I got really, really high."
Tim smiled and breathed out a soft laugh. "Yes, you got incredibly high. You've been under the Red Sun lamps for a while, though, so you should be feeling back to your old self soon."
"As soon as this headache goes away, I'll feel right as rain." Kon snuggled into Tim's shoulder and kissed his skin. He kisses a trail up Tim's neck until he feels fingers grip his hair and tug him back.
"We are in the Bat Cave, baby; wait until we're home." Kon whined playfully.
"Come on, Tim, just a little?"
"Nope, you'll have to wait. You can be a good boy and do that for me, right?" Kon practically keened as he breathed out a yes. "Good. As soon as you're feeling better, we can head home."
Kon immediately got to work on feeling better.
