Wade's happy to say he's finally found a real friend. [Well, found him in an abandoned building, half-frozen and still trying to cut Wade's hand off because he wouldn't stop poking him.]
It's nice though, having someone around who actually wants him. Needs him, even, because Wade's new friend isn't in the best shape. It's nice to be needed. And he doesn't even mind it when Wade has to put a bullet in the occasional head.
It's almost like having a dog, if a dog could go out and fetch chimichangas for dinner. Well, on a good day at least. And on the bad days, Wade doesn't even mind it when his new friend stabs him in the chest or breaks a couple of bones or anything.
Because Wade...well, he knows something about torture and experiments and being driven insane.
And he doesn't care if Captain America is his idol or not, Wade's not giving up his new friend for nothing.

They've began to spread rumors about him; about the man with the metal arm and ghosts in his eyes. The camps always leave a space for him, even if he never shows up. "Outta respect." They say, scared to cross the man who stinks of death.
He visited museums and tombs, memories shrouded in the nostalgic glow of sepia buzzing in his brain. When he visited the Smithsonian, he was shocked to see his own face staring back from a display mural, commemorating the "Brave and loyal Captain America" (and he found it funny because he was actually a Sergeant; he supposed it didn't really sound too good paired with America).
Maybe he wanted to let his handlers find him, give him the Ice or maybe a bullet to the head so he doesn't have to deal with anything anymore...but then wet coughing reaches his ears.

Bucky got injected with some hostile nanobots on a mission, and he and Steve have to have sex to keep the nanos inactive until the cure is completed. What makes this worse is that Bucky has really not been wanting to have sex with anybody after everything HYDRA did to him. But Bucky and Steve are in this together, and they are by God going to get through it.
Based on a capkink prompt asking for Steve/Bucky fuck or die after past HYDRA sexual trauma, with lots of emphasis on trust.

I saw this prompt on capkink: I've seen a few fics where Bucky is born in the modern age and Steve is still Captain America, but I'd like a fic where it's Steve in that position instead. He finds the Winter Soldier rifling through his garbage and ends up adopting him like a dog.
And from that grew this ridiculous story featuring an extremely broke Steve who does post-mastectomy tattoos, burlesque dancer Natasha, her adoring boyfriend Sam, Clint Barton who is definitely not a slumlord, breast-cancer survivor Pepper and her adoring, asshole boyfriend Tony and various Hydra douchebags. And the assassin formerly known as the Winter Soldier.

For a prompt: "AU in which a young hydra agent is promoted to being some sort of lab tech/assistant/security guard for the Winter Soldier, sometime just before Steve's survival is discovered. The agent is there when the winter soldier is awake, and something triggers a break in programming, and poor Bucky says something just as heartbreaking as the 'but I knew him' line. this causes the hydra agent to begin having Thoughts about the winter soldier and what's been done to him. Eventually the agent will discover that the winter soldier is Bucky Barnes, and, when Caps survival is discovered, decide they must break Bucky out of Hydra, rehabilitate him, and take him back to Steve."
Slight change from the original request: this story begins after Steve has already awoken and become a part of SHIELD.

Maybe HYDRA wasn't as good as they thought they were, or maybe Bucky had started leaving himself notes Memento-style every time he started to remember something, and finally by 2014 he knows who he is and what's been done to him. But of course, he can't just run. Its not that easy to get away from HYDRA. So he bides his time, pretends to still be the Winter Soldier until he has the opportunity to escape for good.Only before that time comes, HYDRA captures Steve (and Co.?) and Bucky will do anything to get Steve out safe.
