    Think this would probably be sometime before Winter Soldier, but you can squeeze it in anywhere along the movies' timeline.

     

    At some point in their schooling, every kid ends up taking a field trip to the graves of the Howling Commandos. Bucky's memorial has always been one of the most popular, arguably even more popular than Captain America's monument now that Steve's, you know, not dead and the monument is kinda inaccurate.

    The children make paper flowers and decorate the engraved stone, taping drawings and thank you cards they make themselves to it.

    Steve's touched and appreciates it and loves that his friend isn't forgotten in the annals of history, and is dealing with it all pretty well... Until he sees what's written on one of the cards/drawings.

    Bonus points if there's someone, or many someones, around to witness Steve's reaction.

Thinking the that he will torture or kill him they give the Winter Soldier a slightly roughed up Steve and say something ambiguous like "he's all yours, enjoy him." However, he starts treating Steve like his pet, gently caring for him and growling at anyone who tries to get near him.

    Up to you if Steve knows its Bucky initially and whether or not their relationship becomes sexual.

    Steve/Bucky, limited access to speech. Recently I saw this post on Tumblr, about autistic people who sometimes do not have 100% access to speech: http://stimmyabby.tumblr.com/post/94491284337/

    Post-TWS, Bucky is back with Steve and recovering, but due to trauma (not physical reasons) he can't do much talking. He's still Bucky - he still has opinions on stuff, he's still expressive, he still communicates when he can. Sometimes he might use notepads or be able to get ideas across by answering yes-or-no questions with headshakes and nods. But he has limited access to speech.

    Similar to one or more of the situations above. I'd actually like a Bucky of extremely few words rather than no words--because Hydra permitted him to speak, but only the bare amount. Maybe he's able to say things like yes/no, please/thank you, and names, but nothing complex.

    Whether it's permanent or whether he gradually regains the use of speech is up to you. If you're going with the latter route, I would love to see a relapse day somewhere in there!

    AU from the fight on the bridge.

    Bucky starts questioning things a bit harder after the bridge, and after muttering 'I knew him' like a child at his Hydra captors, lashes out once they say to wipe him. cue bamf!Bucky wiping the floor with the entire room and vanishing off the grid. (Pierce can narrowly escape, I suppose, in the interest of later plot, or maybe he was never called in at all, or maybe he left before Bucky attacks.)

    Then Bucky turns up at the final battle on his own and unexpectedly attacks the bad guys alongside Steve because he's hella pissed even without his memories. Post-fight, when Steve approaches him, scarcely believing, he asks again, child-like, "I know you?" and Steve nods and smiles and stuff.

    Gen preferred, but okay to ship Steve/Bucky.

    Based loosely on the prompt about a six year old finding Bucky.

    Bucky is on the run from HYDRA and when on the run, he sneaks into a house's backyard and proceeds to steal some clothes that were being hung dry, a young girl comes out with a broom and attacks him, and she looks just like pre-serum Steve, so now Bucky follows her around like a lost puppy.

    Turns out she is, indeed, a distant relative of Steve's (Maybe a granddaughter of a cousin or something). Cue awkward when Steve finally finds Bucky, holding a ball of yarn for the girl who is sitting on her porch, knitting.

    Without Pierce controlling his mind, the Winter Soldier is as curious and docile as a cat. Poking his nose and fingers into everything, licking things, unabashedly purring when Steve strokes his hair because kind soft touch yes good, chasing laser pointers with intensity. And he keeps doing it, even as he regains his memories, because it feels good to be that free and open after being controlled for so long.

    So, they find the Winter Soldier and bring him back to the tower (capture, or he comes willingly--IDC). He's given up the assassin gig, but he's still not really Bucky Barnes. He's like a ghost--doesn't talk much, doesn't joke, etc. Maybe he hangs around the labs so Tony can investigate/improve his arm, maybe he spars with Natasha, but it's almost like he's actively avoiding Steve.

    Except at night, when as often as not he comes into Steve's room. It's just cuddling at first, but things quickly get hot and heavy. And the thing is, he's a gentle, tender lover; he treats Steve like he's something precious.

    +1 if they weren't involved before this.

    +1000 if Steve was a virgin.

    Please may I have a small ficlet on the subject of Rumlow carrying Bucky. It can be for whatever reason the author wants (rescue, romance, torture, weakened by cryosleep) but Rumlow must be doing the carrying.

    With Bucky in bridal carry position. And possibly concussed just enough for him to not really notice that he's whimpering through his muzzle and nuzzling Rumlow's neck.

    Rumlow petting Bucky's hair would be nice, too.

    The catch is idek if it's POSSIBLE to write something this syrupy and tooth-rottingly trope-y if Brock order-through-pain Rumlow's involved! Rumlow'd probably taser Bucky at least once or twice, to try and motivate him to move, before reluctantly risking putting his own back out.

    Bucky is an ex rock/blues guitarist who quit his band after a motorbike crash lost him his arm. Now he's a recluse who writes songs and sometimes sings anonymously in smoky bars where no one will recognize him. One night a stranger sketches his mournful performance on a napkin and disappears. Bucky keeps the napkin, coming back again and again hoping to meet him, finally meeting Steve.

    Steve is a cartoonist who's quit his job and is looking for inspiration, brought to a bar by his best friend Sam. While Sam is giving him a pep talk, Steve is completely distracted by the figure under a single spotlight, head hanging, hair obscuring his face as he sings inside a smoky halo. Steve goes home and paints dozens of versions of that single image, until he feels the need to visit the bar again.

    Romance ensues.
