Erend doesn't think very highly about himself, but he's doing his best to honor his sister's memory, and take her place as Captain of the Vanguard. The trouble is, he can't seem to stop thinking about the Nora Huntress with the red hair, freckles, and a smile like the sun. And the king certainly isn't doing him any favors by sending him on a wild goose chase through the wilderness to find her, claiming that she alone can accomplish an important quest.
Aloy is on a dangerous path to find Rost's killer and discover the truth about herself and the woman who she believes may be her mother. Yet even in the midst of fulfilling her destiny, she finds herself sparing more than a minute or two on a certain charming, fair-eyed Captain of the Vanguard.
An Aloy/Erend (Alend? Eroy?) light drabble that turned into a long, serious drabble about my favorite ship in the HZD fandom. (Since Guerilla Games chose not to sail it, I decided to step in and grab the tiller). Hope you enjoy!

Zin had been an outcast most of her life alongside her mother, while her father and brother remained with the tribe; making her wonder why she and her mother had been ostracised. There were some advantages as she did delve into the metal-world, she was already an outcast so she didn't care.
But she wasn't the only one as she found a friend in Aloy as they grew up, as they both wanted answers for different reasons, determined to help each other to discover the secrets of their past. But, it might end up being more than they expected it to be.

Summary
Throughout the time that Aloy and Erend meet and got to know each other, there were a lot of things that went unsaid between them. Even right up until the final battle. What would they have said, if given the chance? What would happen if they did get that chance, and took that step?
Chapter 1 is canon through Erend's POV with non-canon pre-game background. Chapter 2 is canon through Aloy's POV with non-canon pre-game background, Chapter 3 is post canon, 3rd person POV. This only has moments in the game when they were together for major plot points for chapter 1 and 2.

Aloy wanders six years after the battle of the Spire. Nora ways are too stilted and Avad's affections are stifling. Erend wants her to drink with him, Talanah wants her to hunt with her. Elida wants her to shop with her, Vanasha wants her to sit the council so she won't be the only woman.
Nil has been missing since the Battle of the Spire, and Aloy remembers every day how he only showed up because of her.
She returns to Meridian between her travels for Avad's council. The last time she returned Avad had a new project - The fighting pits across the Sundom. But there's a fighter, a man who never speaks except into the ear of his dying foe. The Whisper of Death, the call him, and he wants the pits to remain open, him and his mysterious sponsor.
But then animals begin popping up. Not boar or geese or the other pests that roamed her world. The people are taming beasts long thought to be dead, and Aloy is determined to find out where they're coming from, before the sun rises, and the shadows claim their blood once again.

The tribes give up on her, but not Erend, Varl, or Vanasha, who know Sylens is behind it all. They have no choice but to find Aloy, especially as the Derangement gets worse. Then two years into their search, a message from Aloy falls from the skies.
