“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Ace was six-years-old when he learned who his father was. He was six-years-old and he already knew he was a murderer.
That was the day that Ace vowed that the curse he'd been born with wouldn't be passed on. He may have been a child himself but he knew enough about the world already to know that it hated him and his blood and that it would be just cruel to subject anyone else to his sure to be terrible fate. He was six-years-old and he already knew he would die young.
Ace was fifteen-years-old when he presented and once his mind returned all he could do was cry. Because the curse he'd been born with wasn't enough in fate's cruel eyes and now he had presented as an omega and all the world saw them as good for was to bear young. He had already sworn off love and a family at six and now, he might not get a choice. Omegas didn't get a choice.
