“What are you talking about?” Grace's fingers played quick chords as he spoke. He didn’t even look as he did it, but it did not make them any less purposeful.
“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

He may have been a child himself but he knew enough about the world already to know that it hated him and his blood and that it would be just cruel to subject anyone else to his sure to be terrible fate. He was six-years-old and he already knew he would die young.
Ace was fifteen-years-old when he presented and once his mind returned all he could do was cry. Because the curse he'd been born with wasn't enough in fate's cruel eyes and now he had presented as an omega and all the world saw them as good for was to bear young. He had already sworn off love and a family at six and now, he might not get a choice. Omegas didn't get a choice.

The tree is covered in white flowers when it grows here. But it would also look great with purple flowers. So there’s a world or universe or something somewhere where the tree has purple flowers. It’s too beautiful of a thing to not exist. My Ma said it's like that for everything, in the legend or whatever.”
