It stings, the ropes digging into his scales and rubbing his skin raw, but he can't do anything about it. His claws are bound behind his back with the net, and Pyro isn't strong enough to break through the metal of the cage anyway.

The event was getting dull fast. Scott had only decided on attending to get caught up on the latest gossip about the rest of the vampire elite, but everyone was being close lipped.
He's sure it has something to do with Lord Holden's mopey attitude. The man was the one hosting the event, but he looks like he would rather be anywhere else. Scott has no interest in Lord Holden or whatever is causing his bad mood, but his eyes keep straying over to him regardless. Or rather, over to the human trailing behind him.

Everything comes back slowly. In pieces.
First the sound of beeping, then the smell of antiseptic so sharp he can taste it on his tongue.
It startles Simon enough that awareness isn't far behind. Everything is dark and he can't tell if his eyes are open or not.
His breathing picks up, the insistent beeping increasing in speed as it does. His chest feels tight and painful, and the air around him feels wrong. It's too open for what he knows to be a metal tomb.

Pyro doesn't know how long he's been swimming for, but his tail is starting to ache from how hard he was pushing himself to get away. He's far enough from his pods territory now that Pyro allows himself to slow down. It's as the adrenaline starts to fade that everything crashes down on him.
His pod chased him out. He has nowhere to go. Pyro's never been on his own before.

Both the never ending hunger, and the loneliness. It's unbearable, but at least one of them he can ease with meat and blood. No matter how much Pyro eats, it won't fill the emptiness left behind by his isolation.
He had wanted so badly for this to where he belongs. He had fought tooth and nail to earn his place in the coven, and is constantly trying to keep it. Pyro thought he'd been doing well.

It's as he's looking through the bookshelves that he spots them. Pyro is sitting by themself, pressed in at one of the small desks. He doesn't mean to stare, but he can't help it. Pyro is so focused on their work that they don't notice him approaching, gnawing their lip as they write.
It draws Czeslaw's attention to their lips, his face warming without his permission. That irritability from before shifts into something else, and as disgusting as Czeslaw knows it is, he's curious.
