Summary
When Clay wakes up, the first thing he sees is snow. Now, the thought: “did I seriously drink that much?” doesn’t occur in his mind often, but then again, he was celebrating Tommy’s adoption the day before, and perhaps he got too into it.
“Come on, Dream. I’m getting bored over here. They make me talk about my problems with a therapist now, and she’s weird about all those,” a voice calls out; the stranger in front of him makes a vague noise that might be disgust “emotions.”
“Dream?” Clay stares at him, his eyes wide and filled with fear.
“Bruh, did you hit your head?”
Or, a short story set in “The Dreamwalker” universe; in which Clay travels to Tommy’s original world. He’s had his experience with dealing with trauma so now he can use his therapy powers on others.
Or; sometimes you can find your family across universes. Ft. Fixing mistakes that don’t belong to you and learning how to live despite the past.
Would recommend to read “The Dreamwalker” for this story to make sense!

or, Wilbur leaves Tommy in the foster system when he ages out. Tommy spends years on his own growing bitter towards the world, and when he develops powers, he decides to leave the group home and create a life for himself. There's something strangely familiar about the hero Siren, though, who seems hell bent on stopping his villainous activities.

You did me a great service while under my employment, now you’re done and you are leaving. You are not permitted into this country without valid citizenship.” Wilbur’s are hard, cold and calculating.
It reminds Techno of the late king when he’d forced Techno into that contract.
Genuine fear runs through his veins as he stares at Wilbur.
“No!” Techno pleads. “Please, Wilbur!”

“What’s a due?” Tommy asks, his bright blue eyes shining at Wilbur, questions flooding the boy’s irises with the overwhelming passion of water from a broken dam upon an uncautious town.
“Adieu is a word in another language,” Wilbur replies, taking Tommy’s hand to lead him out of the alleyway into the streets as the sun begins to set. “We need to get home before dark, Toms.”
Tommy smiles brightly and points up at the sky. “Look! Look! It’s a full moon tonight! Does–” Wilbur covers his mouth, looking around to make sure no one heard.

A small crowd had already gathered around him on that street corner, consisting of people passing by with no evening plans who'd been lured in by the young man's bravado.
Tommy was a born entertainer, always had been. Even as a little boy, he used to sing or perform an improvised play on this very corner (as well as every other one nearby) to anyone who would listen. He was trained in the art of making people listen— drawing them in, capturing their attention and holding onto it until he decided they could move on.
Tommy was a born entertainer; nearly as much as Wilbur was.
or, catshifter!Tommy and Wilbur are street performers (and occasionally conmen on the side). A circus arrives into town, and they accidentally find a family.
