Summary
Occasionally he would look over to see Keith’s eyes drooping, his head dropping slightly. Finally, an hour later when Shiro looked up to rub at his eyes and the words on the paper were starting to blur together, did he realize that Keith had finally fallen asleep.
His head was buried in his arms but Shiro could see enough of his relaxed face and the way his back rose and fell slowly to tell that he was passed out.

He hadn’t meant to fall.
One second he was in the training bay the next he was barely making it to his room, gripping the bathroom doorway hard enough for his knuckles to turn white. His chest heaved, his head was fuzzy, the walk there was already slipping from his memory.
Then the floor tilted.
Pain shot through his lower back and his knees buckled. He hit the ground hard, the impact rattling through his bones. The room spun as he swayed before collapsing fully onto his side.
“Fuck that hurt” he muttered.
He tried to breathe through it
His cheek pressed against the floor, skin sticking with sweat and tears.

“-and you’re the leader of the MFE Squadron. According to rule G18/14-B and R6617-K, it states that all pilots who are authorized in the Garrison hangar by their commanding officers are allowed to fly their designated aircrafts for routine checks. Sam also said I could ‘go for a spin’ if I’d like.”
James gave Keith a long, hard stare. “I can’t believe you still remember the rulebook after all these years.”
Keith shrugged innocently. “Had to know the rules if you wanna legally break them.”

Keith didn’t move and neither did Pidge. It was a little awkward until Keith finally said, “Maybe we could officially officiate this..?”
“What do you mean?”
“Fist me.”
Pidge recoiled and sputtered, “Keith, what the f-” She was cut off by Shiro’s bellowing laughter from the observatory deck.
With his straight face unchanged, Keith lowered his left hand with the stopwatch and lifted his right hand, fisted.
Pidge actually sighed with so much relief, “OH. You mean fistbump! Right.” She slapped her forehead to remove the very very wrong image her imagination drew for her, “Holy shit, Keith, we need to work on that but yeah sure, I’d be honoured to officiate your physical contact program whatever.”

That one time Coran realized Keith was too distant and decided to make him undergo the 'Physical Contact' Initiation Program which then led to --> 5 times the paladins realized Keith was an actual cat.

Shiro raised his eyebrows. “Well, Keith isn’t as bad as me-“
“That’s the thing.” Matt cut him off. “They want both of you to dance. To honor our alliance and celebrate your killing of the giant worm. Together.”
Keith looked up at Matt slowly and said with fake solemn, “We’re doomed, Matt. The horror of 2050 has come back to haunt us.”
Matt played along with faux dread in his voice, “I told you we should have said the awful dancer that tripped everyone at the Garrison masquerade was Shiro.” Matt dramatically raised the back of his right palm to his forehead and tilted his head back with closed eyes. “Karma is reminding us of our bad decision.”
Hunk, Lance and Pidge’s eyes widened.
“THAT WAS YOU, SHIRO?!” Lance shouted while Hunk and Pidge gaped at their senior officer.
Shiro looked at Matt, then at Keith. “Please know, that I hate the both of you.”

Summary
Keith always felt like he never fit in, when his Galra heritage was revealed it certainly didn't help his situation. Keith was used to abuse, lived it most of his life; so, he should be fine when it starts happening in space, right? From people he's fighting along side with to save the universe, the same people who he thought he became family with and would never give up on him.
The only person that never gave up on Keith was Shiro, and that's all Keith ever needed until it isn't...
The Dads of- I MEAN, BLADE of Marmora, are more than happy to have Keith living on base, that option was always available for Keith. The Blades were disturbed by learning what's been happening to Keith; they were OUTRAGED when they had to discover that Keith was a young kit in the Galra eye from unfortunate circumstances. Too bad they're in a war, if that weren't the case the Blades would've gladly eliminate everyone who'd dared harm their kit.

Takes place after 6x05 (The Black Paladins) and continues through 6x07 (Defender of All Universes). Not exactly canon compliant, but doesn't diverge too badly. I mostly just added in some more whump, as well as some much needed talks about Keith's trauma.

Summary
The unexpected pain catches Keith off-guard, and rather than landing safely on the other side, he tumbles down the hill, instinctively bringing his arms up to guard his head.
On the plus side, he’s made it down the hill in record time with no head injury, and he can no longer hear the footfalls trailing after him.
…but he’s paid for that win with the gouges he can now confirm are thoroughly marring his right hand and the sting along most of his left forearm. After he pauses for a shaky breath and brings himself to look at it, he sees how fast it’s leaking blood, staining the dirt beneath him. It’s most definitely not a “slap a band-aid on it and move on” kind of wound.
