Summary
Four years ago, a tragedy befell six kids, irreversibly changing the course of their lives forever. One boy in particular shut himself away from the world, living in his own head where nothing ever happened while taking on the alias of Iko.
In the present day, sixteen year old Ross Duval is finally coerced out of his house, only having three days to make amends with his estranged friends before he moves away.
The only problem is, he can’t remember what split them all apart. Even worse, he hasn’t seen his brother since the day he decided to become a shut-in. Where did he go?

Radford gently bumped their shoulders together again. “You’re not a bad person, Kevs,” he answered earnestly, picking up another scoop of his own water ice. “Bad people aren’t sorry when they make a mistake.”

No matter what he did, Kevin kept on screaming at him. He tried to move past him, but Kevin kept moving in the same direction.
“You’re going to look at what you did and think!” Kevin jabbed a finger into Ross’s chest. “Think about how you just wasted three months of our lives preparing for this recital! Think about how you threw it away!”

It was swirling all around them now. A deep, suffocating darkness that promised no salvation or return. It filled Basil’s throat and pulled the life from him, while simultaneously filling him with such raw fear that could be nothing but the truest display of living humanity. His eyes shifted with the shadows around the room sporadically, and he couldn’t pin Something down.
"Sunny… There’s no way out of this, is there?”
And how could there be, when Something loomed in, closer and closer, on the both of them? Something, ready to hurt Sunny after it hurt Mari, surely on a mission to take all of the goodness in the world.
Why, then, was it after him, too? There was no goodness to be had in his sick, twisted mind.

Mari died in that noose, but Mari didn't want to die. And when a desecrated body holds enough regrets within its soul, and refuses to move on, something terrible happens.
But perhaps something terrible is the only way to fix the story of OMORI before it even begins.
