Till turns his crazed grin and both middle fingers up for the cameras, then he throws himself off the suspended stage headfirst. The momentum rips clear of the cords in his neck, blood streaming behind him from his open wounds. Behind his eyelids are flashes of his life: long pink hair, bruises down to bone, and one night with the sky streaked bright, running hand in hand.
On the way down he thinks, in the split second before his neck snaps against the hard metal floor, that if he had the chance, he’d keep running next time.

His eyes travelled around the familiar features–just older, but the same; thick eyebrows, long eyelashes, and that tooth, peeking over his lip even though his mouth was closed. Till’s chest heaved, and he pulled off his gloves so that his shaking hands could cradle the face, thumbing underneath tired eyes.
This had to be a dream, and he was going to wake up soon–any second now. But time only stretched on, and he was still there in that downpour, hovered over his unconscious body.
“Ivan?” Till squeaked out–a name he hadn’t said aloud in nine years. To anyone else he was always that guy, that brat, that… feeling I didn’t understand until you were gone.

Feeling conflicted and lost—unsure if revealing himself to Jinx would hurt her more than heal her—Silco finds himself drawn to the old mining shaft. He finds more than the dusty letter with his name on it when a beast shoves its way in. Not just a beast. Vander. And when Jinx, Vi, and Isha track that same beast to the mines, what should be heartfelt reunions are clouded with the pain their decisions inflicted on each other.
