Summary
When Jewel the Beetle goes missing, the former Diamond Cutters regroup to search for her and discover something horrifying. Two days later, Blaze the Cat travels to Sonic's dimension due to the Sol Emeralds warning her of urgent danger. She quickly finds herself entangled in a horrific spiral of death where she and a group of Restoration allies have to fight to survive while figuring out if there's any way to stop their once idolized hero from from killing everyone. With every second counting, ever danger threatening her life, and every failure weighing heavily on the princess, she's forced to find a way to push through growing trauma and fear to get herself—and hopefully even one other person—out alive.

Citron Yoshi should have been in bed. They knew that. Of course they knew that, their brain wouldn’t shut up about it at all. They knew they were supposed to be responsible, they were supposed to make good decisions, reasonable decisions, smart decisions. Decisions you would expect out of a person who was 30. They were not supposed to act like some 20-year-old college student who just went and truly partied for the first time.
It was at this blinking red light at this uncrowded intersection where Hotaru sat waiting without a need to that she saw her employee, Citron Yoshi, stumbling out of a building, which she put together was a bar. They were visibly drunk. It always surprised Hotaru that Citron was such a heavy drinker. They seemed like too much of a laid-back goofball to fit the picture Hotaru always had for heavy drinkers. At least, most of the time they did.

In 1972, a popular student of Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3, Meguri, suddenly died partway through the school year. Devastated by the loss, the students and teacher of class 3-3 continued to behave as though Meguri was still alive, leading to a strange presence shown within the graduation photo. In Spring 1998, Kaori Tanaka transfers into Yomiyama's class 3-3, where she meets Megumi Shimizu, a student whom their fellow classmates as well as the teacher seemingly ignore. The class is soon caught up in a strange phenomenon, in which students and their relatives begin to die in often peculiarly gruesome ways. Now, Kaori and Megumi seek to figure out how to stop it before it kills anymore of their classmates or them.

Marisa Kirisame has always wanted to be immortal. For as long as she has known herself, that's been her goal. And one day, she accomplished it, but at a high cost. She let herself become a vampire. Reimu Hakurei, her girlfriend, didn't take kindly to that. As far as she was concerned, a human turning into the youkai was the worst sin one could commit. Now, they haven't spoken in two years. And that has been more than enough time for Marisa to realize that immortality isn't what she really wanted.
Reimu had become bitter. Ever since that day two years before, she had grown even more outwardly hostile towards everyone. With few exceptions, even being cordial was a trying favor to ask of her. When a new string of incidents occur pointing to Marisa begin to arise, the complicated emotions she still feels over her lost love begin to boil over into rage.
Can Marisa, the Witch of Woe, find a way to restore that humanity and love she once had, before it's too late, and she turns her back on it altogether? And can Reimu, the Maiden of Misery, find a way to forgive not only Marisa, but herself, for the agony she's faced and the bonds she's broken? And can the two women learn to love each other once more, as they did before?
