That warmth that had been Jay’s best friend earlier was turning into his worst nightmare. The room spun and that stupid warmth was doing its best to shove his eyelids shut.

His second stumble would’ve sent him crashing to the floor had those strong arms not wrapped around him.
When Jay drinks too much punch at a welcome party for Ambassador Veneir from Shintaro, he puts the entire mission in jeopardy. Now, with Kai missing, it’s up to Cole and the rest of the team to figure out what’s going on before it’s too late. In Jay’s defense, he didn’t know anything was wrong with the punch in the first place.

Only, he hasn't really done this before, and he winds up digging too far back and making a startling discovery.
For 2haaction, prompt was "post-canon taxian-jun reacting to finding out/recovering mo ran's memory of chu wanning calling himself ugly. can be funny or angsty." I went with funny.

It had been a point of contention between him and Jiang Cheng when they were children. Jiang Cheng had thought he saw no difference between a happy dog with a wagging tail and lolling tongue, and one with aggression in its body.
But Wei Wuxian knew—knows the difference. He knows because a happy dog is one he can run away from, duck behind Jiang Cheng, scramble up a tree and wail for rescue. A snarling dog is something that leaves him frozen.

Summary
Among the six of them, it isn’t uncommon for the Ninja to have nightmares. Jay is often climbing into Nya’s bed with her, or Lloyd with Kai. Zane and Cole can often be found in the kitchen, just milling about and sipping hot chocolate idly, looking mildly shell shocked.
Nya has always had nightmares, ever since she was much younger, living with just her brother. It’s not uncommon for her to hover outside of Kai’s room, just for him to inevitably call her inside like he could see her through the door.
But Kai never seems to have nightmares, like the rest of them. He never comes to anyone else’s door, red and shaky. As far as Nya knows, he never really has. He was always ready to take care of her when she had one, never seeming even a little bit frightened as far back as she can remember.
