“Goldenloin, Goldenloin, Goldenloin!”
“...Ambrosius?” Quiet, calm, Ballister.
Gravel crunched softly, or perhaps debris. Smaller parts of a much bigger building, to which building no one could be certain, and they never will. Ambrosius looked down, his glazed over gaze staring into Ballister’s soft, worried one. He was unsure of when the other had found his way in his arms, head resting on his chest, legs pulled close to his shoulder. The knight turned slowly behind him. No more people.
“Are you… alright?” Ballister exhaled, his voice revealing itself hoarse.
Ambrosius looked back at him, taking a breath to steady himself, "I'm okay, Bal.” He nodded softly, to which Ballister hummed a faint response, accepting the other's answer.
In the aftermath of the city's destruction, Goldenloin takes his lover home to recover. There's a lot to discuss, but for now, lets just take things slow.

Now that Wylan is the sole inheritor of the Van Eck name and wealth, he has a lot of networking to do, and Kaz encourages it for the benefit of the gang. It would all be fine, except having Jesper as a plus one doesn't make mingling and small talk easier. Wylan can emulate the upper classes just fine, but Jesper definitely doesn't have the same knack for it. Fortunately, anything is fun when you have your boyfriend with you.

Wylan is half asleep when he feels the first touch, a gentle pressure on the curve of his shoulder, a light scratch that swoops down over his flesh. He's used to the feeling by now, used to Jesper dragging the ink across his skin, covering him in nonsensical words - the darker boy's fingers brushing over him, smearing the ink in patches, his lips hovering in a breath of a kiss that never quite connects no matter how badly he wants it to. He closes his eyes and tries to breathe, he bites his tongue and tries to keep as still as he can, because sometimes saying nothing at all is better than all the words that could get tangled between them.
