Steve digs out his wallet and counts up all the money he has saved, and tries to remember how much he has in his bank account. He keeps looking and the third ad he sees is finally one within his price range, it's a guy who only listed himself as ‘EM’ looking for a roommate in his two bedroom to split rent 50/50 with. Steve just hopes that this guy likes kids.

"What?" Steve looked up from the open book he had laying in his lap, he was looking for the matching painting of a flower the two had found.

Steve looked over to see a boy staring back at him. He was a ways away, tucked behind a few layers of brush so he couldn't see his legs. He looked about their age, maybe a bit older, his hair was long and curly and dark and messy, nothing like Steve had seen on any child in the castle. His shirt was fraying at the edges and the material looked scratchy. Steve supposed he was from the village.

On Monday, May 22nd, 2021, the SFPD got a call from Fausse Mort Dance Studio. The instructor, Miss Beaumont, was found dead in the locker room. She had died three days prior. No signs of injury or struggle. She hadn’t been a young woman or a particularly healthy one. The most probable cause of death would’ve been a faulty heart or some kind of stroke. As a new detective on my first homicide case, I was brought in to do some cursory interviews, close the investigation as a simple non-violent death, and move on to the next one. No foul play, open and shut. But I knew something was off about the sudden death of Miss. Beaumont the moment I got her students and assistant talking about her.
