    Summary

There is one unspoken rule in the Boston Raiders — don’t mention Ilya’s classification. Don’t discuss it casually, don’t crack jokes about it, and definitely don’t make gentle enquiries about it.

Especially do not make gentle enquiries about it.

Shane, Ilya, and their classifications throughout the years.

    Summary

It was no secret that Ilya loved a challenge. He loved it even more whenever Shane was involved with it. Now that they weren't facing off against each other on the ice, he took a sick joy in finding ways to bring out the competitiveness in his husband. Something Shane would outwardly scoff at, but rise to nonetheless.

This was how they worked. Ilya would propose a deal, and Shane would be hopeless in stopping it. But maybe, just maybe, one day he'd come out on top.

    Summary

A private conversation between Shane and Rose goes viral. No, not that one. Another one. One about unrequited love, undiagnosed autism, and a preference for submission. The fallout will be impossible to handle. Especially because Ilya Rozanov probably saw the entire thing.

    Summary

“Go?” Rozanov repeats, and Shane thinks he manages to nod, thinks he manages to spin some kind of excuse that he knows Rozanov doesn’t really buy, but he needs to go. He needs to get out of here. He needs to find somewhere quiet and calm where he can ride out this panic and painful tightness until he can catch his breath again. He needs-

    He needs to go.

“I’m sorry,” he says, turning heel and resisting the urge to just book it right for the front door only because he’d rather not have to explain to Hayden why he returned from a hookup with Boston Lily in men’s clothes that he certainly didn’t leave in.

It’s not until he makes it halfway up the stairs to Rozanov’s bedroom that it occurs to him in a cold rush that it isn’t just anxiety that makes it this hard to breathe.

“No,” he tells himself firmly, white knuckling the bannister and trying to take a deep breath just to prove that he can.

    It wheezes.

    Summary

“Do you know this name, ‘Shane Hollander’?”
The kid looked at Shane, chewing his lip and frowning a little, before turning back to Rozanov. “I think so, yes.”
    “Who is he?
    “Uh… a hockey player?”
“No,” Rozanov said in a harsh, cutting tone. “He is no one. Because he is on my ice. Understand?”

To help with his edge control, the Metros' coach recommends Shane take figure skating lessons with someone named Ilya Rozanov. Rozanov is rude, abrasive, and insists he will only teach Shane in a group class for kids. Shane, a rookie hell-bent on proving himself and unwilling to disappoint his coach, refuses to give up despite how much Rozanov tries to humiliate him each lesson.
